Glad you gave Rey some guidance. Sounds like he got a nice 97. I told him welcome to the REAL Cruiser club now haha.
I was seriously asking... been using the loose hood, aux fan, & heater trick.... it has worked for some of the short 2 mile 6% grades, but the big test is our local wheelin spot up on Bald Mount. Hwy 168 from Tollhouse to Shaver lake is a 15 mile constant 6% to 10% grade climb starting at 1000 feet to 5500 feet in elevation. I will be doing this the 1st week of Aug. I am a bit nervous, I will have to do it in the cool of night.

GW, unplug the 4lo position sensor on the t case and run that baby up the incline in 4th Gear 2low! I’m rooting for ya!

3:1 Tgears, yes... I am willing to go down to 1st gear, but in low range thats very slow.... let do the math..... well at 15 miles per hour that would I am taking a wild guess at ah, 1 hour :steer: o_Oo_Oo_O
Less time than replacing the motor

Turn 200000 miles today......the proper way pulling a 3.3miles 7% grade out of SLate Creek and cool doing it 👍

So it’s officially broken in now? I have another 50k to go...

Replaced the rear output bearing on the transfer case today. Pretty easy going if you have the right assortment of tools and miscellaneous pieces of metal to aid in the install. Getting the bearing retaining ring out was the most difficult part. But a long flathead screwdriver and a right angle pick aided in its persuasion. An old bearing race made the new seal install a breeze. And a piece of metal tube made the bearing installation nice and easy. Now I’m back to the rear drivetrain of the truck being VIBRATION FREE!!!

That seems like a great option, which plug to disconnect 1, 2 or 3? Or is it a specific wire like pin 7

Edited later: I texted Shoredreamer & its the number "1" connector in pic.
If you look, there is a black wire with a blue stripe which is the wire pulled in the pin 7 mod.
The yellow wire has to do something with the transmission shifting points.

No aliens involved, but I rebuilt my power steering pump to stop a leak. Go Here for pictures and some things I learned that might help other hdt/hdft owners.

after the new bearing do you have any at all play in output shaft ?

Added 1,400 miles, discovered my evap hose is leaking into the carpet, seems to be missing the firewall grommet.

Keep getting distracted by some awesome places in America. Saw a sign for Roswell, New Mexico and just had to go there. Now camping in the pitch black waiting on the the aliens...

Nice Pics! I've been off the forum for a few months - a quick question:

Your front fender vent - where'd you get it, how do you like it, and does it help keep things cool? Thx!
