What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend? (36 Viewers)

Finished the 2nd iteration of my fridge slide with storage. I might cut it down 1 inch just to have the fridge a little bit lower while still being able to have containers underneath. Works great!

This weekend, as well as the past couple weekends, and the entire weeks between, I drove from Colorado to Alaska.

So I am having some starter problems. As in, sometimes it just doesn't crank. Then I wait a bit and it does and works fine for a while. Some Mud research tells me it's common.

But I was looking at my starter, and it doesn't have a Toyota/Denso sticker visible. Which makes me think the PO replaced it with a cheap 3rd party/reman. Can someone confirm that by looking at my picture? And if I replace my starter, I should replace it with the 2kw Toyota one right? (There is also a 1.4kw available on Toyota Parts Deal, and apparently a 2.2kw exists for some years)

Spent more money for parts, I am buying parts every month or so for all the neglected maint over the years. First order was all cooling stuff. This last order was ignition and all parts for EGR and PAIRS delete, and a hood prop rod set-up.

I buy all my OEM parts from @Akella aka Cruiseraddiction here in Canada, best prices up here!

I have been so busy and will be till the end of August that the parts are just sitting on the shelf.

This is what I did for the past 10 days, a dual engine change and phase inspection on a Piper Navajo Panther. These contract jobs help pay for my hobbies!

I see you parked the window AC unit. Did you get it working in the tent?

No, it didn't work out in the tent. I liked the small size and light weight. Returning it today and getting the stand-up, portable kind (big and heavy). The nights are cool on the North Shore, all we needed was a box fan. Roughing it!

I was tired of sticky rear door locks that didn’t work so I switched out both rear door lock actuators with AISIN DLT-088 and DLT-089. Both were made in Japan.
Helpful video from texasknowhow:

I learned how to fix oil leaks from this guy, hes good.

Wrapped up almost all of the rear end upgrades I have just in time to start the engine rebuild.

- Rear BP51s
- Land Tank HD LCA
- Land Tank sway bar links & brackets
- Whiteline rear sway bar
- Delta panhard bracket

After a couple short drives I don’t think I’ll need adjustable UCA, but we’ll see with time.

are the sway bar links supposed to be up that high? I as because mine look same.

Decided to make the round trip down Ophir around to Ridgway and eat at True Grit cafe. At the first switchback I had to wait on this ambitious Toyota Highlander family. View attachment 2022611
Im heading that way next week highlander will probably still be there.

Repaired some minor oil seeps. Resealed the upper and lower pans along with a few other new seals.

REALLY Wish there was a video on how to do this, I need to do it.

Looks like a parts store starter. Go for the 2.0 Denso. The 2.2 is super rare (1993 only). The 1.4 is for warn climate (my truck is from Florida originally and had the 1.4 when I bought it. Replaced it with the 2.0 1.5 years ago and no issues since.

Just got back from a long road trip. Visited family in WY/CO, did some camping, and the cruiser did great (even at 4k+ RPM in 1st gear going up Teton pass behind some other slow vehicles). Our toddler (2.5 years old) and dog (7) also did great considering the distance.

The only repairs were replacing a headlight bulb and re tensioning the battery hold down. Didn't need to add oil or any other fluids.

I didn't keep full tabs on MPG but when I did check it was in the 13.5 range, speeds between 65-70 most of the time.

Swapped out my Super Charger pulley down to a 2.8 and can tell you that with an Intercooler its a beast!
It is SO nice only having drop out of overdrive once or twice during a long haul up our mountain passes.
Here is a shot of the three sizes I've gone through, 3.25, 3.0 and finally a 2.8.

im trying to assemble all parts needed to plumb up my IC I want to be just like you obviously.

I can say the Super Charger comes alive with a 2.8!
8psi boost at full load, although Im only seeing 7psi as my Intercooler drops it a pound as the compressed air passes through the IC core. But 7psi cooled is sweet!
I find the best part is boost comes on at lower rpms, makes it much more responsive to pedal input!

s*** man if you talked to me like that I’d get out of the truck and knock you over. Your implication that women are bad drivers is a good indicator that you need to be knocked over. I hope she got out of the truck after the camera turned off and told you to go **** yourself.
