I run 9011 bulbs from Rock Auto in all four, some trimming of the tab is required to run as a low beam but its easy to do. Very noticeable improvement from stock. I also run the Slee headlight harness but its not required.

Ended up ordering 4 of these from RA along with a few other parts. Thanks for the suggestion. They are nice and bright, but the fit could be a little better. They don't click in quite as good as the 9005/9006 bulbs. They don't jiggle while driving so I guess they pass the test!

did you move the oring over from the others? Mine snapped right in yesterday.

The dunes of Tunisia was hard on birfs for both 80 and 60 series

4 - 80 series birf failures on our trip

3 on the red now POS HDJ81

I can now claim 2 broken 80 series birf to my credits:rolleyes: along with several other 80 parts.

We were down to only a short birf so some African modifications were needed. Sand tightens all tolerances

I did on the low beams but the high beams seamed to not need it. Didn't need to trim the tabs on them either.

I spent the weekend helping my dad on his once in a lifetime bison hunt on the Henry Mountains in south eastern Utah.

I was asked about the bride on the Toyota 150 in my pics

it is Arabian babbler :)
The Arabian babbler is a passerine bird belonging to the genus Turdoides. It is a communally nesting resident bird of arid scrub in the Middle East which lives together in relatively stable groups with strict orders of rank

@TexasJack

she like only Jeep no like Toyota

That is one aggressive, hard-headed bird! I understand what you mean by it being hierarchy-centric. This bird is trying to set the pecking order with the bird in the mirror. Entertaining!

@LandCruiserPhil Sand Dunes is something we do a lot here in Israel can you elaborate on what kind of brif failure you experienced? pics of the defected parts and brifs? and what did you do to continue driving? what was the filed fix?

thank you

All failures were appeared to be cages. We had 6 spares and once they were gone we drove without. In locked vehicles we would gut the inside and lock the diff to get drive.

Dunes are tough in Tunisia but we did make to the highest dune in 5 days (due to perfect conditions) as others spend a life time and never even see it.

Doing the same here. Like the idea of a simple and cost effective solution for better lights. Were there pics of what needs to be trimmed for fitment?

You'll know where to trim when you pull out the old bulbs to compare. Only the bulb needs trimmed, not the housing.
