Ok so whilst on my way to overland expo in NC I detected or perceived a vibration and after getting out about 6 times and rolling out my @Overland Tailor ground tarp (awesome little set up indeed) I said EFF IT really loud and turned the 37 in tires northward. not sure why but I kept getting an image of a tow truck driver pulling up and saying " you want me to tow that thing" I headed north to upstate new york the area made famous by thousands of ner do well hippies, smoking pot, having sex at random and newly up and coming rock stars all congregated WOODSTOCK, well its changed a tad. But deep in the mountains lives a man, many have thought of as a mythical figure somehow perhaps simply part of the matrix, not a figure a mere mortal could actually meet. yes yes you may have guessed correctly it is BENO, hidden away off of very curvy and tight roads surrounded by rushing streams and large dams. Was a house with several iterations of land cruiser I knew this was the place. After several transactions for real OEM and hard to find parts Beno had mentioned I should stop by some time, and on my last trip when a caliper bolt bailed on me on the blue ridge skyway he offered a place to fix the truck. I had yet to take him up on his offers. But after this failed trip (first time ever) I did turn my sights to the legendary spot of woodstock and much like meeting Ghandi or Yoda or hell even Cruiser Dan there he stood phone in hand explaining some mathematical equation to another cruiser owner in some far off land(no doubt) Onur or as we know him BENO an I was very happy to discover parts I had ordered before rolling out were there. I had replaced my stock leaking steering gear with a REMANNED oem and after a few months it too is failing, and I had always wanted to upgrade to the 105 shaft and arm. So beno made it happen and it was far less than rumors had led me to believe, also after replacing and destroying several(or maybe 2) double cardon drive shafts I went all out and got a NEW DC for a tacoma that will be built into a brand new double cardon, yea I did that, also I got a new rear driveshaft which was slightly more than 2 OEM u joints. at any rate after tossing Beno the keys we took my truck down to a local brewery where we regaled the staff with stories of land cruiser awesomeness etc and Beno gave me his impressions of the truck all were quite favorable except simply pulling the fuse for the ABS apparently isnt enough IN MY CASE, so Im going to yank the entire unit. and I will be installing my whiteline front sway bar before looking once again at springs, even tho she was loaded down for the expo, the term "wallowy" To move with difficulty in a clumsy or rolling manner; flounder: "The car wallowed back through the slush, with ribbons of bright water trickling down the windshield from the roof" was used to describe the LCs behavior on turns etc " So hopefully with the inclusion of the front sway bar it will help if not Ill be hitting up Dobinsons or the like again. and now for serious cruiser porn. alos out of all the very knowledgable techs that Ive spoken with in person, this was the only one that actual said let me drive it and Ill let you know. a smart approach I thought. I was talking about your rear drive line replacement if you're just going back to the old stock set up
negative its not stock now, just got a new DS to work with.

Changed the oil. Didn't have the right size oil filter wrench to get the old filter off, so I improvised. Hose clamps around the filter allowed me to use the wrench.

Installed @LandCruiserPhil battery bracket. Disregard the wiring rat's nest and splices, I am working on cleaning it all up.

Relocated the Puma compressor from the top of my drawer to the side, out of the way. Looks much better.

Another instance of “check your nutz”...

Client brings truck up from NYC for an inspection...

Client takes train home to NYC... cause I sure as sheeeeit was not letting him go home with missing studs and nuts. They are unfortunately sheared off in the knuckle.

Refurbished my combination meter while in the process of replacing all dash bulbs, installing my CB and a blue sea power outlet wired hot all the time.

I used a 3m headlight resto kit. Before and after pics don’t do the difference any justice. It was dirty and covered in tiny scratches.

The before polishing photo ended up in the middle.

Hows is the lens attached?

Helped with a staging area, the first job was to remove the old sign. It was a :hillbilly: sign, installed 4/17, it's cost was ~$30 and was still doing the job, not bad bang for the buck! The 80 pictured is one of the Copperstate guys (Gary) who has been converted from a Jeep!

Have been looking for a kiosk for a couple of years, budget is always an issue and a three panel costs ~$5000. Mesa District had one that was improperly placed, needed to be moved, so got them talking with Globe District and moved it here. This is the one we pulled on Tuesday.

While this was going on, a team went to another staging area ~10mi away and refurbished those kiosks and another ran a meet and great, talking with recreation users as they came and went.

Pipehenge!

The fixtures removed, one panel installed. The other two have incorrect header text from their previous use, are being refurbished by RockArt, so will be installed on Wednesday. Great job, collaborative effort, ~15 trucks from OHV groups, one each from Globe District, Mesa District and the SO. Some of it made possible by funding from grant/donations by Polaris and Ride Now Powersports.

The lens has about 7 or 8 of those barbed fingers that fit into slots around the meter housing basically “snapping” it to the meter.

It did t turn out like new but it’s much better than it was. My iPhone 5 photos are not the best.

I was able to get some maintenance done on the truck. Lifted the front and checked play in both wheels and there was a wobble. So I pulled the drive plates off and adjusted the bearing runout and torqued them down to 47lbs backed them off and tighten them back down.

Then I rolled around underneath her and saw a few things that needed attention. The rubber isolator or one of them has deteriorated and was causing a vibration at times so I have some baling wire and secured the exhaust and hopefully it doesn't vibrate anymore. Once I get the proper part I will fix it correctly.

When I did my lift I zip tied the LSPV up to the trailing arms. Apparently, the zip tide broke, so the pedal feel went to garbage. Again I used baling wire and wired up the arm for the LSPV and now I have that better feeling brake pedal.
