Thanks! Yeah I was getting tossed around like a boat on the ocean in the 80. I can't imagine what it's like in a semi. I saw one semi actually have the rear wheels lift off the ground and he got super lucky because they came back down. He immediately pulled off. The total count from Cheyenne to Fort Collins was 17 flopped semi's. Winds were 70 plus and I25 was shut from Cheyenne to Wellington. I took the frontage road and then hopped back on and those poor dudes were flopped everywhere

I feel bad because some of these guys are just doing what their dispatch tells them to do! "It has to get there" "you cant be late" yada yada yada... whenever I talk to a new guy I tell they they need to stand up to those in the office and let them know how bad it is. No load pays enough to risk it all by driving in these condition.

Sliders look great! Are you planning on retailing these in addition to the roof rack? Was going to order some WK's but I'd rather support a mud member.

If I can hit a price point to make it worth doing, yes. There are lots of good sliders out there. The difference with these is that they really work on 80's with flares as they extend out really far. It is really to provide a really nice step into the truck. My wife is like 4' 13" so she hates the big leap without the step. Less shin bashing slip with the square rub rail vs. round tube also imo. They are beefy too.

Would you stop already with the new stuff I didn’t know I needed! . You’re going to end up being worse than @NLXTACY. At least with his stuff I can kid myself that each item is “only a few bucks”. Bowfin Cruisers stuff is going to add up quickly.

I have the same gray LX cladding and I would love to loose my running boards for a functional color matched step slider. I’ll stay tuned to see if they become a product.

Got some new calipers, pads and rotors for the rears and threw on the TE's from the Tacoma today. Also took off the factory side step things. Not a bad look for 285's on stock height. Oh and the other project just waiting for its turn...

Had a frame shop assess my frame post-accident and it’s diamonded due to the full impact on the driver’s side ear.

Goes in to get pulled on Monday.

I'm always amazed at the prices 80s go for in Angola. Mine is in OK condition but I really do not know her value.

I see a lot of wrecks advertised such as this one:

On sale for AOA1.7m (that is US$10,254.94).

I have seen Angolans ask similar prices for 80s in much worse condition.

This one was missing many hard to get and/or expensive parts (so many I can't even begin to list).

Most Angolans will not even consider selling an 80 in worse condition for less that US$6000 and will not even contemplate parting them out.

Today I went to pester a chap selling the above 80 and this chap was different. I explained what parts I wanted and he has agreed to make a quote!

Maybe I will finally get those last few parts I have been struggling to find...

It does make me wonder what mine is worth?

Could she already be worth more than her original book price? US$50,000? Some Angolans are suggesting so!

You can no longer import vehicles over three years old into Angola so mine is heading to be one of the only 80s in Angola in good working order!
