Took a 2 hour early AM drive up to West Point, NY to pick up a gear trailer at a Scout camp out.

Not much traffic at 5AM, beautiful sunrise, 24 degrees, BOTH heaters on full, sunroof wide open, hot coffee, fresh air, and listened to the full REM Automatic for the People album. Hard to beat sunrise through a clean windshield... A great way to start the day .

And... Dutch oven breakfast quiche hits the spot.

Hung out with a FJ80 and a FZJ80 today.

FJ80 did not have any heat. Could be many things.

Walk up to truck, look at heater valve and the cable was not connected.

Finally decided to chase down the "high speed long radius right turn steering wheel shimmy"

FYI, after hating cone nuts for a while and reading how everyone "just taps them out with a brass drift" I found a thread where someone used an air chisel. Reading a bunch of "razz" about using an air chisel (understandably because of the steel on steel) I decided to use the best of both worlds. I put my brass drift in my air chisel instead of the steel bit and it works GREAT!!! - highly recommend this method!

Wheel nut was loose. Much happier now!

3/8 torque wrench + 3/8X1/2 + 1/2X3/4 + 3/4X1 =54mm!

Finished up my Trail Tailor aka Jason Reeves aka @reevesci dual swing out rear bumper.

Here’s my review. Sucks to be all of you that can no longer get them! It is perfect. Took my son and I a couple of hours to install it after taking the old off yesterday. All the pieces were there. The strap for the triple jerry can holder is freaking incredible. Like it’s almost too nice to leave outside! Everything went together like butter.

Now I just need him to start building front bumpers for 80s again so I can have all of my armor from one source.

Started framing version 2 of my sleeping platform. This one's actually sturdy and has something that wants to call itself a shelf.

I took off the rear bumper for a good cleaning. I also wanted to repaint the rear crossmember and polish the step plate. I found a bit of surface rust and prepped/painted it. I also spent 4 hours polishing the aluminum step plate. The step plate isn’t perfect now, but looks a lot better.

Put on my cup holder, new seat recline handles,transfer case shifter extension, and installed my beefed up lower control arms and shock bolt protectors. And took the boys from church camping and fishing.
