its been a slow work in progress but ive done enough over the few years ive had it to do a build thread.
I hunted craigslist for a couple months prior to finding the right one for me. I found it 6 hours away in Miami on a Saturday while at work and drove down that night after I got off. inspected it in a park at 1030 at night and felt good enough to pull the trigger. drove home and had a blowout 3 miles from home and the spare tire wouldn't come down so it made it home at 430 am on a tow truck.

it had a little bad clear but I was ok with that because I always intended to liner it.
first on the list was tires.

then the fun stuff, baselining and had to fix the rear locker actuator

1995412

did the front axle service and what not. ordered the redneck belly skid from a user here

I also extended all the breathers

I got lucky and @CruiseOrlando had a set of ome mediums I was able to trade for a hand throttle and got procomp shocks from summit. I had to test it out and ripped off a flare.

the trails in florida are hot so I cut in some hood vents and fixed the holes from the fenders.

and finally got the tires ive always wanted.. 315/75/16 pit bull rocker radials

still on the list of I wannas is a metal tech tube bumper up front with a winch, im gonna pull the factory roof rack and cover the paint in tinted liner to match the current color but im going to come down to the body line on the fender which I couldn't follow before because of the bubbling clear on the top of the fenders. im picking up a welder from a friend soon so I want to build some rear quarter protection because ive already caved one side and ripped out a tail light once. I know this list of iwannas will grow a lot but that's expected. with 4 kids its a slow process.

Looks great!!!

Just looking at your sliders... I have a similar setup on mine. But, I of course landed real good on a rock on the front passenger side, and since there wasn't much stiffness due to the cats being in the way, it bent up and crushed my rockers. Notice theres a lot of room from the front edge of the slider to the frame mount? Just sayin you might wanna throw in another stiffener if you can up there. Course those do look much more robust then the ones I got.

I've now damaged 2 oem driveshafts.

So I found a local machine shop with a driveshaft shop to take one of my damaged ones and rebuild it.
For $133 I've now got one that's .187 DOM.

Great transformation Danny. Those tires were well worth the investment in Grand canyon over at Durhamtown a few weeks back!

The truck has been leaking quite a bit from the valve cover so I finally got around to fixing it.

While it was apart I heat shielded the harness near the egr.

Cleaned the valve cover up and primed it and gave it a new look.

I also changed the timing chain tensioner gasket. Still chasing oil leaks.

Been a little while. The pit bull tires while awesome off road didn't like the road. After about a year and a half 2 of them developed sidewall cracks and wouldn't hold air so I'm back to kuhmos. The truck has been burning oil for too long and I've had the spare head sitting for me me to swap so I dove in.

I put in about 6 hours tearing it down but hurt my back somehow so it's been really slow coming back together.. the freshly rebuilt head is back on now but I've still got all the rest of the assembly to do.

Also ordered some rcv birfs and axles so once the heads done I'm gonna tear into the front axle again so I'll keep this updated as my back allows

Finally got the cruiser back together and on the road last night. It's running really well. There's a trail ride with the Florida land cruiser club on the 9th so I had to get it in gear. No real snags came up in either job so that was good.

Just for the record here prior to this surgery I did the abs/ lspv delete from here.
Yet another LSPV/ABS delete how to...

So that's why there's no tone ring on my birf's.

My cats where clogged so I just ran straight 2.5" pipes over the frame to a flowmaster.

I have a friend with a winch in a broke down truck so after a lot of pestering he finally gave it to me. I pulled it out of his arb and found out it had been splashed in salt water and sat for 6 years.. it's a superwinch ep9.0. It was brand new he only ever turned it on to spool it once. Thank god the seals were good and the only corrosion was in the end cap around the brake. I forgot to take a pic of all the white corroded aluminum but I got 98% of it so hopefully itll be good. It's better than it was

I had one of those generic summit winch plates and some 1/4" plate left over from my smoker build so I started on a bumper. All I got to this weekend was the center.. I still have to mount the winch and relocate the solenoid because it was out of its box and the power strips were all bent up. I got the wires for that so it's next up. Then I'll figure out how I'm gonna do the wings out to the fenders but not sure when I'll get to it.
