Took it to local body shop who removed glass, cut out rust and welded on some new metal.

Cost was AOA50,000 and they cleaned the car inside and out.

AOA50,000 is US$301.35 at official rates. It is substantially less if you can buy Kwanza on black market (about $116.00)!

The distance you drove after the impact is pretty long considering you were on the brakes.
Could it be brake failure on your truck?
I would look into that possibility before driving it again. Check everything possible related to the brakes.

I got my 80 rolling again after the accident.

Despite the frame issues that I’m having professionally analyzed tomorrow on a body shop frame rack, it’s tracking well and brakes are excellent so no issues there.

No issues with front locker engagement and tires and rims seem fine despite the curb hit - I was only aired up to 26 PSI after wheeling and on 37s so seems like tires and suspension handled that part.

The other driver’s insurance is acting as if acknowledging her fault - she apparently told them “I turned on yellow” (from a stop), which is true.

Little goals right now - I at least have wheels again. Depo headlights and side/turn lights on the way, keeping the stinger and will reweld/triangulate with plans for valence trimming and something very tucked up to the sides cutting out some of the body damage in the radiator support wings.

Starting to think that next tires may be 38’s. Seems to be a logical outcome since she’s no longer the primary family rig.

Just played around with the fork lift at the wife's work.

Keep in mind all non-lifted tires remained pretty flat on the ground for these initial pics. By the time we got brave, and things got tippy, the phone died.

Thanks to @reevesci for the Tough Dog Tour Flex set up, (and the custom rear bumper) couldn't be happier. Larger rubber, drawer system are happening over the holidays.

Little late on the post but ... put new drive belts on the Cruiser and the WHEELING FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! Rausch Creek with the Keystone Cruiser guys. No lift, no front bumper, skid plates or under armor. Just 33" tires and a whole bunch of fear. I was amazed about what I saw Cruisers, Tacomas and 4Runners do. Not many pics of my rig at all as I was between two guys that kept me on the right line.

This came yesterday. Got the weekend planned...

How do you apply it? Do you have a spray gun of some sort?

As was mentioned, HVLP gun. Buy a cheapo and dedicate it to this. Unless you want your interior paint smelling like wet sheep.

I work at Lowe’s so I picked up a couple of Grayco HVLP guns that were discontinued. Originally $250 but I got them for $40.

The spray can version of Fluid Film is not cheap. About $11-12/can.

When doing your doors it is a good idea to clean out the weeps at the bottom of the door. That would be my biggest area of concern. They get filled up with dirt and crap and hold moisture. They are little slits.

You can buy Fluid Film in two different gallon containers. The first is a normal paint can. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE! Pay the $2 extra for the one with the screw on lid.
