Replaced all the oem orange lens w/ the clear lens and installed a oem rear wing last weekend.

Made it to Estes park :). We no more than got everything unloaded and it started pouring rain. The last 45mins of the drive was a little sketchy and I about got side swiped by an RV . I'm not looking forward to the drive out. Stock gearing and 315s is just terrible at this altitude. I planned on swapping eventually down the road, but it's probably going to happen much sooner with my yearly trips out here.

Well, look what arrived today. If only it would reduce temperatures when I install it.

For once being OCD pays off.

Replaced a somewhat new fusible link. Apparently the little sleeves on the wires OR the rubber isolator in the battery box hole is important..

It didn't get into the wires themselves so this will go into the spares box along with a brand new one. I figure if I have fusible link issues out in the sticks having more than one spare isn't a bad idea.

Well the cooler is pulled. Pretty darn easy.

This side looks good, just a little dusty.

Oh my! I wish I had remember or thought that there is PAG oil in there when I tipped it over to dump out.

I'll have to figure this one out. I think I'm going to pull the blower too. I bet it's clogged too.

A little corroded looking. I've only blown it clean so far. Trying to decide if I throw it in or get a new evaporator.

are the actual tubes corroded to the point of losing material? if not I'd put it back in. You won't want to pay for OEM and aftermarket will be inferior quality.

Vacuum lines look fine. I may just use some simple green and soapy water and go from there.

Thanks

Denso evaps on Amazon are around $100. Denso is OEM.

Left Miami beach and headed for Naples via the loop road on the Big Cypress National Preserve. Saw this little creature but no pic with my cruiser cause as soon as i stepped outside i was attacked by 40 million mozzys.

I abandoned the idea of camping and found a hotel near Naples. Grabbed a spot on the beach and watched the sunset.

@joez processs is started...

Trying to keep the weight down and clearance up. Been looking/reading for a few months on what to do with the rusty rockers on my 80. Gotta thank @brosky and @joez for the initial idea from a few pics I found on a google image search. I will report back if I don't screw it up too bad.

Those wheels and tires remind me what we had on the farm trucks way back when with the 7.50 x 16's pizza cutters with deep aggressive tractor-tire type lugs that howled on the highway and slung mud like there's no tomorrow.......

Yep, in the same vein of what I was going for in looks, I just really enjoy the industrial look. I'm guessing they'll sling mud pretty good, but hopefully they won't be too loud. At least so far, they are surprisingly quiet though they are brand new of course

Caught this would be car jacker in the act.....

The red is sooooo much better than the dark green. Neither is great but I'd take the red over the green every time. Congrats on the new truck.

Thanks, I really like it...

Both of mine are 4K1, and if I ever had paint done, I'd probably get them redone identically. Burgundy is like a Cadillac DTS color...screams retirement home. :D

Well I am old so it must fit, right:oldman:

Define old.

1. You're drawing social security.
2. Your kid(s) are drawing social security.
3. You played with erector sets and Lincoln logs as a child.
4. Your kid(s) voted for Sanders.
5. Your kid(s) play with fidget spinners.

Finally trust everything enough to do a little WOT for video. Still need a bit of MAF tuning and to figure out whether the stock airbox is a problem but AFRs are at least safe.. and it is plenty quick for the rest of the trucks capabilities

Edit: and, this is with 315s and 4.10 gears, which is actually still a little shorter than escalade rev/mile

as soon as i stepped outside i was attacked by 40 million mozzys.

The loud CRACK and blue flash my electric fly swatter makes on mosquitos is VERY satisfying. Almost work getting bit..
