The clips are the same as OEM I've compared these to the 60, 80 and 100 series and installed them as well. The TOYO joint has been copied by China. If you ordered it from Amazon or Ebay.... more than likely you got a Chinese knock off. These are ordered directly from TOYO in Japan.

The Chinese copy says "Japan Spec" on the box, which is NOT the case or the same. I first started buying these through a AU seller and now directly from TOYO.

This was about ten years ago.. before the chinese knock off stuff was as prolific.

Just a thought. Those clips in the original post didn't have the shiny sides of the ground OE clips and I was wondering.

Not sure when the knock offs started.

I know I've sold 126 of these and have only received positive feedback on fit and quality.

I'm a week late but Memorial Day weekend was love/hate ....

Got a great deal on a full roof rack and RTT only to have it completely blow off the car since it was strapped down to the factory roof rack. I learned a very important lesson about securing items down that day. Brand new rack probably done for...and the RTT definitely has some issues that need to be addressed. We ended up hitting hungry valley OHV still and saw a ton of 80's...the most I've ever seen in one place in my life. Did a couple of trails with the cruiser but mainly gave the new dirt bike most of the attention :)

If anybody has any recommendations on straightening out the roof rack, feel free to PM me. I'm not really sure what to do with this thing now :frown:

That sucks big time!!! I'm sorry.

Making some, albeit slow, progress on finding and eliminating the leaks from my truck. Sealing the rear quarter side lights, rear fender flares and the metal strip below the window has resulted in a perfectly dry set of rear inner wheel arches.
However last nights rain storm still left me with a loud sloshing noise so water is getting in somehow.
I bought one of those little USB borescope and started sticking it in every orifice I could find (insert cat joke here). Well it looks like the water is inside the door sill. Passenger side is dry but drivers side is hiding a little lake. I guess the woosh sound is the water running front to back and vise versa.
Draining it wont be a problem but for the life of me I can not see where water can get in. Anyone seen this before?

The front sunroof drains actually drain into the rocker cavity. Strange design IMO, but it works as long as the drains from the rocker cavity are clear. They are the little slots under/behind the rocker, and can fairly easily become clogged. Easy enough to clear with a small screwdriver or zip tie.

You nailed it @bryson. Zip tie inserted and voila.....

I am the American dream. Cleared 860 miles from Arizona to Eastern Oklahoma with the 80 series on 35s and trailer. I racked out in a sleepy little I-40 town for the night and now I'm back on the road to the Great Smoky Mountains. Less than two days ago I was in California.

On a roll today. Sunroof drains unclogged and now i have finished my @yodaTEQ gourmet kitchen. I had to make a minor alteration due to the WitsEnd york bracket but clearly nothing major given that i achieved it...

This story knocked me into a cringe that I couldn't get out of for like 90 seconds. Sorry bout that man.

And this one was about @on3i11s horrifying roof rack debacle

Well to make you cringe even more, not only did the brand new rack and RTT fly off the back of the car....they also happened to land in front of a 2015 grand Cherokee and destroyed the front right of their bumper. Brand new baby on board too. Overall, I could care less about the damage to the rack or tent...I'm just glad nobody was injured. It was a 60 mph 2 lane highway with steep drops on either side. Will post some more pics and vids later

So for now the 80 is our only functional vehicle. It's at the hippie COOP right now and will be doing some mall overlanding later...

That's right. 188000 miles.

Ironically (?) I got my Blackstone report yesterday afternoon: "there are slight signs of coolant in your oil..." Just hours later, BOOM
