My wife commented that she liked the size of that tent better than our Maggiolina Grand Tour. This may be the only time where I'm encouraged by her to spend more money on Land Cruisers...

I've been needing a "stop gap" solution for my seats until I can afford new leather. Actually my front seats are not terrible, but the 2nd row was starting to split in a couple places. I sprung for the crazy expensive Cabelas Trail Gear covers. That was a hard earned $60 for both fronts and middle row. Fit isn't awesome but isn't horrible either.

I have been using the same covers from Cabela's for going on 2 years. I plan on modifying the second row cover so I can fold down the sides separately. They fit well enough to cover up my nasty front seat and I even took them off and ran them through the washer to clean them once.

Interesting that he would have it there. I was just at REI in Des Moines and they have the Yakima RTT on display right when you walk in.

Yeah Yakima is pushing their new tent pretty hard. Very light duty, but might be attractive to some REI customers that are used to backpacking tents.

Tepui has been in REI for while, just don't have a vehicle to put in every store as a display.

I offered up my 80 series with my Tepui on it to my local REI to display for a weekend. They seemed uninterested. I even bought it at that store.

Replaced the air filter today. Stress on the intake hose created a vacuum leak. Loping idle and stalling resulted. Pulled the hose, it ripped in half. Taped it back together with self-fusing silicone tape, reinstalled, problem solved. Ordered a replacement.

I can't comment on REI but built offroad trucks are probably not the most popular with their core customers.

Yeah, a lot of Subarus and Prius' at the REI in Des Moines. And new Cheby pickemup trucks with broski flatbillers.

I know not to mess with karma. When I buy my RTT this year I will be buying it from Adam.

I disables the ERG valve (vacuum loop back and unplugged the connector) and I have noticed smoother acceleration and a smoother idle. My butt-dyno says that it was a good choice. I will see if it helps fuel economy any, which would be an added bonus.

the bench seat cover is almost as cheap as the open box that I snagged from the bargain cave.

Joined a couple of Land Rover buddies and my friend / diesel swap maestro to hit Comb Wash, Arch Canyon and Hotel Rock in / near the Bears Ears in SE Utah. Pretty astonished by my first proper slickrock trail experience with Cummins power in my FZJ80 - idling up obstacles with my feet flat on the floor in low range and 2nd gear is a pretty fun experience. Only one big pucker moment as I three-wheeled down the up-and-over obstacle on Hotel Rock, and that's largely down to inexperience.

they're definitely inexpensive. I just got both fronts as well as the 2nd row bench. For the price, I'd say the quality is actually pretty good. I spent ~$60 for the first 2 rows. That's much less than total garbage covers from Autozone.

Still, not planning on these as a long term solution.

I agree that at the price point they are good quality, WAY BETTER than auto zone seat covers. Like I said before I have been using these for about 2 years, they have been easy to deal with, just adjusting them every once in a while after they get moved around from normal use.

I meant cheap as in about $15 for the bench(an open box return), they definitely are not as nice as leather but better than the tore up cloth seats in my 91. As of now these are my long term solution.

I like that they held up in the washer too, the little one spilled on the seat cover so I threw it in the washer and hung it up to dry. It worked great but you have to remember to tie up the pull strings on the side or they can come out and you have to re-lace them.

ARB? Awesome to hear. They are great. But I know of three that have died due to heat.

I have had 2 ARB twin died from heat. Both were installed in the side pocket of my dual drawers to hide away. The bought used one eventually had its motors faulted. Brand new one was installed in the same location and had many times reset the circuit breaker, replaced fuses with circuit breaker, before I could refill 4 37" tires. I contacted ARB support and they recommended to move it to a more open space location. BTW, ARB replaced my used unit for FREE eventhough it was out of warranty. Great customer support.

Dropped off the rear seats to have the leather replaced. I am NOT going to do it. Ain't gonna happen!

Liking the space that removing the seats affords me.
