You can..... but the top two holes are studded from flare side. Pop open rear quarter panels and remove 10mm nut. The door portions unbolt as well.

I think the back of front flares is bolted to rocker with odd spacer nut contraption as well.

Ripping off works but may pucker some metal around holes and is easiest performed with help of a large tree or rock on the side of the trail.

plugs were from lowes home improvement. Hillman #881199 variable depth push fastener GM $.80 per pair

FYI - Hillman is also available at ACE Hardware For a LOWES near you click ►HERE

Ace Hardware is not the unofficial hardware store of Mud. Lowe's is! I like my Lowe's paychecks!!

I don't think Ace is going to pay me to play around on Mud all day!

Since @LandCruiserPhil brought it up...

Another one of the reasons the Land Cruiser community is the greatest....

I broke my #2 knock sensor over the weekend when I was replacing my fuel filter. I searched and came across a link he had posted for Toyota OEM sensors on flea bay for $30 each! Instead of $160 from Mr. T. I ordered up two. That's great if that was the end of the story...It wasn't.

Phil messages me and says "hey, I'll send you my two sitting on the shelf while you're waiting on your two to come on the slow boat from China. Just send me yours when you get them."

I've never met Phil.

This is one of a long list of cool stories of guys (and girls) helping each other out because of our weird obsession with a Japanese truck.

Ok. Not a weird obsession. It's completely healthy.

Thanks @woody for bringing this merry band of misfits (some more than others..) together!

In actual 80 related stuff, I have some exhaust dampers/mounts coming in soon to fix my broken exhaust rattly problem, and I'll try to get my local 'hood shop to weld up my mofle pipe back onto the muffler. Might try to do it myself. Cali truck, so it's not very rusty at all. Shouldn't be a problem.

Road trip to socal later this month (no Baja), but some beach camping for New Years, so there's that.

I made an attempt to gain some center console space... Don't laugh. It's better than what I had being a Lx450.

Got my fancy new bracket a la @NLXTACY installed. I switched it up a little bit and made it 2.5" on the flat part instead of 4".

I think I will have a new one made that extends up to the water bottle so it is long enough to hold the aux fuse panel instead of having it mounted to the cruise control cover. Didn't think about it until I was almost done installing it. I am going to get some 90 degree crimp ends and drill a hole down through for the 2 ga wire. Will be a little cleaner. As it is it could rub on the edge of the bracket. I added some extra layers of heat shrink and cut a piece of 5/8" heater hose and slid over it in the meantime.

I got my inverter mounted under my sleep platform. I used 3/16" flat stock and the third row seat bolts. I squeezed a few washers under it on the one side to help level it out (could use a couple more). Rattle canned it then grinded off the paint on the one hole to use as the ground. Plugged a fan in to it and it works! Pretty exciting!

@LS1FJ40 You cant go too much further back with that bracket because of the lift support.

Good call! Thanks for saving me the time. Not sure why I doubted you. Must be the fumes from spray painting and the carbon monoxide...
