Apparently that 5 link binds. Better off to 3 link like @jcardona1, check out his build, what a weaponthat sucks. but me not being able to drive into any of the car parks here that all seem to be 2.1 as standard would suck just as bad. When I finally get to building my garage I need to make the door tall enough for the cruiser with something like a jerry can on the roof rack just to be safe.
but, not even sure when I can do the new suspension and tyres anyway. and that company in qld who make the 5 link front for the nissan patrol may well bring out an option for the 80 next year so do I sit on it for a while longer in the hope of getting that or do I jump in sooner and move the radius arm chassis mounts and a washer mod at the diff which is what @AutoCraft Aus does?
Does getting ready for the weekend count? Bought a friends RTT and we got it mounted up..... like way up there.Doesn't seem like Im running that much lift (just J's), but when you combo that with racks and tent
I may need to re-consider my original plan of a trailer. But for now......

The never ending debate of trailer vs tent. My happy medium was this.Does getting ready for the weekend count? Bought a friends RTT and we got it mounted up..... like way up there.Doesn't seem like Im running that much lift (just J's), but when you combo that with racks and tent

Yup. 90% of my camping has been in the back of the truck with the 80 tent condom (DAC tent). I'm pretty comfy sleeping in the back, but will admit my daughter has become obsessed with tree forts and camping up top so thought we would give this a try.The never ending debate of trailer vs tent. There is a lot of merit to that. We will see how it works out in the next year. They seem to hold demand for the right crowd, so not worried on recouping the cost if doesn't turn out to be our style.I've always WANTED a RTT. I think it would be cool to have. But I like being able to just s*** the hatch and go...
I've read your posts on sleeping platform for your trip out west. Have you looked at the DAC's?I've always WANTED a RTT. I think it would be cool to have. But I like being able to just s*** the hatch and go...
@LS1FJ40
If I were you though , I'd blow off Clearlake and lake berryessa all together and go North to the Lost Coast - the most remote stretch of Beach on the west coast . Go up USAL Rd through the forest about 5 miles down to a very secluded beach to camp , then on further up to shelter cove ... this trail is mellow the first 6 miles then is hairy the rest .... especially if wet ... but here is a link to the Lost Coast and a few pics of when I was there...
Hit Usal Rd off Hwy 1 north of Westport almost exactly 5 miles to sharp left on USAL rd. then drive through the forest 5 miles to the beach , etc. then on up to Sheltercove, etc.

Put in a second battery box. Won't have a second battery in there for now, but gets the fluids that were in the back cab out of there and stored in that location.

Since I completed the grueling task of installing the second battery box, I figured I would let my 80 take me on a holiday weekend adventure to the neighbor islands to visit friends and family (well, take me to the airport). Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving weekend!!

Occasionally, the o-ring from the old filter will stick to the engine block, causing this kind of oil spill.
Ha. My 1938 Dodge is named "Ava".
Do they make bubble wrap for you?! What does this make, 3-4 Land Cruisers you've wrecked?!
Bunch of work today.
Bypassed EGR and smog pump, per Mud instructions.
Fixed wiring on Amazon back up camera.

Installed porch light, for use camping. Should be handy for lighting the ladder area when we get our RTT.

Wired the porch light to this remote relay from Anzo. It has 4 circuits, each with it's own on/off button on the fob. Will be handy for lighting around the 80, as well as having the ability to light the ground from inside the tent, with a push of the button.
