Thermozite suppose to provide insolation and sound isolation, one side is aluminum foil so it suppose to reflect heat also. At the end of the day it's a sheet of aluminum with some fairly tight woven synthetic fibers. I hope it's as good as some people/review says.

I was on the freeway this morning the noise level is about the same but the 80 has way more noise from the side and top so just the bottom is probably not enough to make a big difference , I'm hoping that the center console doesn't get really hot on long drives.

I'm doubling up the tranny hump. And firewall. Ordered some more yesterday for that purpose.

The shocks and springs are coming.

Spending $90 for insulation when replacing the carpet with vinyl doesn't seem wasteful to me.

I also don't have $3k to spend on a suspension kit.

To each their own.

I also didn't do it for "sound deadening". I drive a 23 year old vehicle. I like the noise. But heat insulation is important.

Also, I don't plan on driving 80-90 mph through the desert with my 80. Having a suspension that can handle the rebound of that would be wasted money for me.

Finally finished the thermozite install got all 4 seats back in. Quick tip, make sure to cut out areas around second seat mounting area/feet or reinstalling them will be near impossible.

Just had a long drive and the transmission tunnel and center console has been surprisingly cool so it worked!!!!!

To start the weekend I figured I'd finish my project entitled "Copy @RiFF RaFF ."

SWR meter finally came in and I tuned the antenna, as per the instructions, so all channels reflect less than 3.

I'll eventually get on board with H-Radio, but this will suffice for the trail requisites for now.

The thermozite is 80 something shipped so not expensive and I was going to take out he carpet to power wash anyways.


AND king doesn't have the shocks I want and can afford yet.

With 4 yards you should have enough extra to put extra padding around tranny tunnel....yup I said that.

Just make sure the padding doesn't interfere with the gas peddle. The padding is pretty thick so I don't think you need to put 2 layers.

Just finished up installing 30mm Ironman front coil spacers. It's the third time I tried to do it and it worked this time due to a tip given by @Qball regarding the bottle jack between the axle and the frame. It worked really good. I had to undo a couple of other things besides the shocks (a fuel line attached to the PS end of the sway bar and the front diff breather).

Now she sits better and I am sure she will settle a bit in time.
DS front 21 1/8"

PS front 21 1/5"
PS rear 21"

I figured since the battery sits on the DS it makes that side lower by just a bit. It's always been the case for me.
With the driver inside and some settling over time, I think it will be just fine.

Your shocks are too short and you didn't disconnect the sway bar from the frame! If you disconnect the swaybar you don't need the bottle jack! The springs will just drop to the ground.
