How cheaply can you get those made?
There is an OEM part for this.. 17148-41010 Retail is less than $14 ea.

Crap! I didn't know there was an OEM option! There is $ wasted!

I'll order the OEM ones. I should've researched this better. Ugh.

Anyone NEED PAIR gaskets?!?!

Money you could have used to buy some kings!

You can use the lower gaskets to seal the OEM blanking plates. Upper will be useless. I have one too.

Have you done the full PAIR and EGR delete?

So before I rip into this PAIR deletion do I just need to remove the various bits and seal the holes that are left with blanking plates? I take it there are no codes that will be thrown as a result of this sabotage....

Yes, my PAIR is deleted. I had to ditch the airbox muffler when I installed second battery. At that point I just plugged the fresh air tube ports on both ends.. the engine-side was very noisy.

Later I removed the valve module and exhaust manifold pipes. Required extracting broken studs from the manifold in my case. I ordered what were listed as the OEM blanking plates from cruiserparts.net but what I got were cheap fabricated copies that weren't well machined and the holes were too close together. I would have sent them back but needed the truck running, so I enlarged the holes and they have worked so far. Did use OEM PAIR manifold gaskets there, along with new OE studs and nuts.

I unhooked the rubber vacuum hose on the passenger then driver's side, and used a section of silicon vacuum hose, a small machine screw, and some RTV to make a compact plug for the hard vacuum line on the front of the intake manifold that feeds the PAIR system. VSV is still in place and hooked up.

No codes in at least 1000 miles. No idea whether it's related, but I do have my EGR temp sensor bypassed so EGR is disabled. No CEL for that.. but no clue whether that part of the system being enabled would increase sensitivity for PAIR codes.

If you want this clears the way to run a 95+ supply-side hard heater pipe. I decided not to because for me it's not worth draining the cooling system and I actually prefer having a small rubber section above the water pump.. makes hooking up a garden hose for any future flushing of the heater core very easy due to it being in the front of the engine bay.

Drove the Ol' 96er to watch some vintage sports car racing this morning.

Started out with doing this today. Everything was going smoothly, albeit FREAKING DISGUSTING, until I realized that it just doesn't make any sense to not put insulation underneath the new vinyl. So...back everything goes in to the 93. Well, not everything. Just the driver's seat. And fridge. No sense in half a$$ing it.

On the plus side my son and I spent more time cleaning the disgustingness off from the PO. Dude was a filthy animal!

Some good bonding time was had.

My LC was looking too pretty...all washed and freshly accessorized (new prinsu rack and front grill), so needed to do some exploring. Loaded up the boards for a morning surf then got out and about to take in some Oahu scenery.

Love the pics!
Planning to visit Hawaii next year.

Checked compression and all cylinders were around 180-184 dry. Next up is trying to figure out how all the oil is getting into all the cylinders after I shut it down. Valve guide seals????? Oil pygmies? Lord only knows. At least it runs.........

Mmmmmmm, almonds!

You have no idea how many almonds! I stopped and vacuumed it out in Salt Lake on my way back. Just because it felt and smelled disgusting. Purely psychological. There were hundreds of almonds. The PO gave me a story that his family owned an "almond farm" in NorCal. My 80 was their weekend driver up to NorCal from LA. Supposedly...

Then again I also found multiple pamphlets for hookers and a one hitter. The pamphlets were just laying in the back of it. The one hitter was stashed under the center console.

Come to think of it, my 80 was in @NLXTACY's possession for nearly a month. I bet him, @jtwopark and @Qball used it to go trolling...

You're cruel haha. Those pop out for easy cleaning ;)

Yeah, I knew they popped out but there was stuff all over the center console and I was taking it out to replace the carpet with vinyl anyway. He figured out that they popped out on the last one. HAHA!
