My friend had a fj and was trying to convince me that it was a land cruiser. I tried to explain why it wasn't but couldn't get through to him.

Ah he must of owned jeeps before.....although you can show him the difference on a trail but like most jeep owners they don't want to get it dirty.

I feel dirty after I wash my 80

I went to see a psychic and she predicted I'd be wrenching this weekend.

that is a lot of wrenching!! You want help since you are local! ...maybe do a comparison test...that would be very interesting!

You know how to set gears? Once I know my schedule, I'll let you know.

I know people that do. Big plus is I have done the whole diff thing about 7 times and can help with everything but setting the gear...I can do shocks!

I've been working on the oil pan arch seal while I had everything apart for the front engine seals. Two things have come up.

First I saw this dangling ground for the wiring harness, does anyone know where it attaches? This a 1994 model if it matters.

Also I stripped the holes on two of the lower pan reinstalling around midnight. Are these holes fully closed off from oil or are they thru-holes that would leak? It was getting late so I didnt take many pictures of the upper pan.

I think one of you guys needs to contact Google Maps and sell them on a LandCruiser version of the Google Maps car. Then we can have street views of all these trails.

Funny you say that. I actually sent them an email offering my services with my FJC. They never responded. I'm sure they'll take the idea and run with it...

It's wobbly season up here at the moment. They are downright dangerous

Wobbly referring to RVs swaying all over the place?

They tried that on the Rubicon.

Yeah. Top Gear USA did a Street View map of the Rubicon already. You can find the episode on Youtube. Typical reality tv jackassery though.

YES. Finally got my hood to latch and not have excessive play. I had to remove the center lower bolt from the latch but by doing so this gave me almost another 1/8" of adjustment which is what i needed. When I have more time I'll drill a new hole for the lower latch bolt but even without it the latch feels very sturdy. Now if I can just get my cruise control to work all the time I'll be super happy. Right now it will work fine for weeks then one day it won't turn on and the cruise light flashes in the dash.

Cool idea, but I hate that show. Refuse to watch it. Similar to the Point Break remake, etc.

If you watch the ways these guys act on the trail, you will REALLY hate them and the show.

I thought the Rubicon episode was entertaining, wasn't meant to be serious. :\
