Please tell me you went to Grand Teton after. Yellowstone is kind of cool whereas Grand Teton is awe inspiring.

We skipped it unfortunately, we spent too much time at Glacier and Banff so we had to cut our time in Wyoming short. We decided that we are going to go back next year to see all of Yellowstone and Grand Teton at a leisurely pace. Might spend a week out there, checking out the major tourist hot spots really early in the mornings and doing some hiking in the afternoons.

Went to Silver Lake sand dunes with my family. Cruiser did great. Man, talk about the odd man out. I saw no more than 4 other Toyotas, no cruisers, sad. I made a couple videos. One climbing "test hill" (steeper than it looks), then one going through water holes. 2 trucks were following me and I think swamped their motors on the last hole. You can see the dodge pickup go through after i turn and go back through. Not good (for them)

Got up before dawn to drive until we saw a pond/lake that looked interesting. Found this little gem. Fished it for four hours and didn't see another person. Large mouth were biting. No record setters but a lot of 3-4 pounders. Was a lot of fun. Cool weather with a nice breeze.

Then decided to go explore and find another pond we noticed on the google maps. Fished it for an hour and realized it was blue gill heaven. Not our cup of tea but would be fun with little kids. Caught a couple of 1-2 pound large mouth.

Called it a day and took a nap. Tomorrow is oil pump cover seal day. Finally.

What did I do with my 80 this weekend.

Well, kind of embarrassing again.

I tried again, for the second time to install the 30mm front spring spacers and failed.
First time I tried I could not get the shock nut out so got me an impact gun from HF. Works perfectly. Got the nut out alright.

Took one end of the sway bar out. Easy peasy. I also got a pair of 6T jack stands from my favorite tool store. No more messing around with 2T under my 80.
I made sure I have enough clearance for the axle to drop. The diff breather line was almost stretched out completely and the spring would not even show signs of budging.
I also realized something important. I know how @NLXTACY does everything. He's got access to Changs. This is precisely what I need. My own Chang. A genuine one.

I had no idea OME 861 could be this long. But this experience gave me the insight about needing longer brake lines. So it's not a total loss this weekend.

On top of my 80 priority list now go 3 more items:

1. Chang(s)
2. longer brake lines
3. extend the diff breather lines

In that order.

The cruiser no longer fits in the garage after the rack. And I am an equal opportunity wheeler my friend, even turned the wife.

I fixed my rear door locks using the video from Texas knowhow. Couldn't have done it otherwise and all 4 of my door locks work now.

The concept of what makes a vehicle good off road doesn't seem to always translate into the language of Midwest truck owners. So yes, things like this is very common. Typically, they look like miniature semi trucks with stacks and whips too. Its great comedy.

Went wheeling with a friend. Nothing too technical just steep. Glad I did the 7 pin mod because it was nice to run in 4 low with the center unlocked. Even on the steepest stuff the truck behaved well in 1st gear, just crawled along both up and down.

Hey now, I'm from the Midwest. I would never think of running a dually for anything other than pulling/hauling.

Back from fun adventures. Baja was great as usual. Made the Coco's Corner run in 40 minutes.
Back to wrenching on the other rig. Check out that Pesky Heater Hose shot! No, I don't plan on reusing it. Maybe the hose clamps though...

A little wheeling in big bear and hung my diff a couple of times thanks to @NLXTACY 's inability to shoot video and spot at the same time.


It's funny to see my buddy's stock 80 with basic lift kit, at tires and no lockers go through all of gold mountain obstacles first try with practically no tire Spin. I've watch countless videos of different types of off-road vihecles try and try and fail at the very same spot.
