Just mounted my new RTT. Plan to use it this coming weekend at a mountain bike race.

Just got my 80 so no wheeling yet. But I have been fixing little things like power window actuators and broken speakers and whatnot.

My center console was dirty and stained with water and coffee so I pulled it out, used some saddle soap to clean it up real good. Applied some leather stain and then shoe polish to shine it up. Pretty stoked with the result.

Did the 20K fan clutch fluid swap. Nice roar on startup!
Then, replaced relay rod ends and installed new steering dampener, and had toe alignment.
Got my rod ends from Sonny at fjparts.com Great personalized service!

I don't remember ever seeing a leather console in a land cruiser before... is this a thing?

Honestly I'm not sure. I haven't seen it either but this is my first 80 so I can only go by pictures I've seen on here. There are a few things with this 80 that I feel like the PO did to customize. My interior is all half grey and half tan...

The leather on the tcase shifter boot looks different as well.

What OME steering stabilizer part # did you use? I was on their website the other day and couldn't find what part # was for my 80 series.
Sorry, didn't check that, I got mine from West Coast Cruisers where I'm doing my rebuild.

I replaced my brake booster..Had to go yoda jims(Toyota junkyard in CO) to get it. but luckily I got it all installed and it works without issue. Next up is bypassing the factory amp and replacing the headunit and adding a cb as well.

Sold it:oops:

So I fixed the rust whole where the seat belt latches to in the passenger rear seat. Put bars leak to stop/slow down the headgasket leak which has worked perfectly for 2 weeks didn't lose a drop of oil. Threw in a new Koyo radiator so the thing comfortably cruises under 185.

I love the truck but I commute 25 miles one way a day myself while my wife runs the 3 kids around. I didn't want her to have to do that in my 20 year old truck with a head gasket looming. So we got her an explorer [and me a focus ST].

Stats on the Lexus 156k miles ran smooth as butter.

Needed front axle service
Front brakes soon
rear shocks
carbon canister
Cat back exhaust
past week I got 02 sensor code and the egr started to pop up again but I think its just the charcoal canister.
Body was a 6 out of 10
Interior 7-8 out of 10

Here is what I had to do to it in the next few weeks. PHH, heater valve with gates hoses, OEM toyota wires and plugs, new oem waterpump. So I still have all those parts sitting on my bench that I will throw in the classifieds.

Having said that the dealer offered me 3k for it but I ended up getting just over 4k from them so I am happy.

I will buy another in the future but this time not be a dumb arse living in NC I wont buy one from Jersey, no more rust for me.

Thanks for being a great forum I learned a lot guys and gals...

took out the 2nd row seats this morning ... their in the way and just added weight I don't need !now it'll work for the upcoming 4th of july camping trip at Tahoe ! I'll get some foam and put in the space behind the front seats and should be able to lay my futon mattress in for comfy sleeping ! Big importance to me is good sleeping ! Camping trips are great , but if your uncomfortable and don't get good sleep those trips begin to suck... so good bye seats !

I guess I need to take the seat belts out too ! ha ( I had taken the 3rd row out sometime ago)

Replaced the power steering cooler, installed the 2.5" OME, and mounted my CVT on the custom rack i picked up from Tim at Gamiviti. I can highly recommend going to Tim if you're looking for a roof rack. Such a helpful, personable guy, who really loves what he does. Then of course i had to test it all out.

Be sure to put the bolts back in the holes to keep the trail dust out.

Oh I did and put the plastic bolt caps back on too ... Thanks !

Drove the 80 last weekend out of town for baseball. Realized the AC leaves a bit to be desired. So I ordered new dryer and r134 conversion valves. Will convert from r12 to r134 Friday night before going out of town for baseball for the weekend again. No more sweating like Johnny Drama in the Valley!

On the plus side the fridge/freezer works incredibly well with the dual battery system. Flawless. But it does get warm in there. Contemplating adding 1"extruded polystyrene to the inside of the cooler to see it that helps. It stays cold but it has to work a little in the heat.

There is not much wheeling to be had in St. Petersburg Florida. Luckily we had a little bit of rain so I got to use my snorkel :)
