What kind of temperature variance are you seeing with this fan installed and how much will they cost?
What an aux fan will do is control normal running temps at low speeds, setting in traffic, and under heavy 4wheeling in conditions like sand. What it will not do is take an engine that overheats or runs hot and make it run cooler.
My testing has shown the 80 fan moves plenty of air under normal condition, it is under low RPM and loaded condition it can use the help.
I will start a new thread with what A year of testing has concluded and discuss cost to determine if there is enough interest to move forward.
My understanding is that the aux fan simply helps with AC at low speed and high ambian temp, nothing else.
I'll be looking for that thread. In Texas heat during the summer, you need all the help you can get. For me, it isn't so much of an issue with the engine overheating as it is with keeping it as cool as possible. I have never seen it run really hot but the air conditioner won't keep you cool at all when it is over 105 unless you are going over 60 on the highway. Will the aux fan help with that issue?
You may also use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat plastics you are going to remove. Less chance of breaking the now much more plyable plastic.Any secret to getting that off without breaking any of the fasteners or clips holding it in place?
