Any secret to getting that off without breaking any of the fasteners or clips holding it in place?

Certainly not the easiest but the best way is to pull the quarter panel trim from the inside of the truck then you can reach under and depress both tabs that hold the clips down.

I drove my new purchase from Seattle to Atlanta. 2800 miles over 4 days (with a 2 day break to ski in Park City). I got the rig aligned and balanced in Salt Lake City. Other than that, all that was required was a bunch of gasoline!! I never even cracked open the box of spares Beno shipped to Seattle for me. It's my first Toyota and I am loving the bulletproof reliability.

Thanks, getting it off was very easy. But I couldn't get it back on without doing what you suggested and popping the clips out for re-installing.

You may also use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat plastics you are going to remove. Less chance of breaking the now much more plyable plastic.
Thanks, it was easy to come off without that....but it was 85 degrees and sunny, so maybe that helped to soften it up!

How was the rust situation?

So, we'll see you at the Camp & Ride next week?!

Add one more, that would be great! Anxiously awaiting the trails, and hoping for snow.

I did a search but didn't come up with anything current. Can you point me to some details? I might just have to drag my 13 year old daughter along!

Pulled the trigger on a Slee short bus bumper.

I did the unthinkable. For the first time since Tools R Us and Inkpot rescued me last year, I handed my 80 over to a mechanic to solve my electrical issue.

I'm just too busy working to do any more to it, and my wife and I are planning on driving it to Normandy to see the invasion beaches, along with the paratrooper museum at St. Mere Eglise and to tour the battle field at Hurtgenwald during the first part of March. I just can't afford to put off fixing it any longer.

So, the walk of shame is when a woman has to walk home the next morning still dressed in party clothes? The "drive of shame" is tomorrow morning, when I drive my wife's Jeep Liberty to work. It feels like I've turned in my man card....

Embarrassing... :moon:

Final product. Just need to find a used 35" spare and adjust the table a bit. Next up is sliders.

That's a pretty cool an unique design and certainly well executed. Just curious as to why you went with two swing outs considering the drivers side one is so small? I understand the arguments for single swing out and I can also understand the arguments for two swing outs, but to me it seems as though you ended up with the good points of neither arguments. Not trying to be critical as I still think it's a cool bumper, just curious about the thought process.

Normandy is one of the coolest places I've ever been. I also recommend the huge cemetery nearby.

Got my rear Lokka installed. Very pleased, though I haven't put it through any wheeling.

Rust was pretty minor. Looks like it was where the trim piece rubbed/scratched the paint. Sanded, painted with some white enamel nail polish, trim back on, done!

Nice intro! Welcome to Mud :flipoff2:

I think I'm going to be driving my latest addition from LA to Iowa (only 1800 miles)...
