Ran Pinyon mtn in Borrego Springs with my Vituscan Missionary brothers. They tried to talk me out of it thinking i would incur too much body damage. Got thru the squeeze with a small scratch on LF fender flare, all other obstacles a piece of cake! Made the drop off look easy even with heavy (350+) rider and got my black diamond badge. Most of the other rigs were jeeps and were thoroughly impressed with my cruzer!! Awesome run!!! Pics and video to follow...

@LS1FJ40 @krzyabncanuck I hope to have the rear bumper in a "presentation stage" late next week.

So, others have asked about winch sizes with this bumper. The ComeUp 9.5 and 12.5 and SuperWinch 8500 and 10000# all work easily. The ComeUp 12.5 needs to have the clutch "cocked" from the forward to the top or rear position. Otherwise PLENTY OF SPACE!!

Pretty damn hard to follow up with bumper shots after an @Aloha Jen poser post... BUT, I'M GONNA DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Very nice design! I especially like how the tubing is functional but understated compared to ARB.

Did the smog thing just now. Smog guy started the inspection and said, "I stopped doing the physical inspection as soon as I saw your new CA approved CATs."

Woohoo! Of course passed without issue except...

The CARB sticker for the SC that I got from @beno was for the 4.7s. Doh!

The goober checked timing. No timing functional is supposed to be performed on OBD2 now.......

Yesterday along the Front Range, especially up here North of Fort Collins, was a snow day. Guess it counts as a weekend. My parents live up in the foothills on a very steep, narrow, and curvy dirt/gravel road. Thought I'd go break some tracks for them. We had a consistent 16" of snow, drifts over 40".

I would've gone and played in the snow out around fort collins with my 80 if it wasn't for school work:bang: you should check out the horsetooth 4wheelers club in fort collins/loveland and come to one of our meetings/trailruns sometime if you haven't already!

1997 LX450 with 160K miles. I had a vacuum leak in the brake booster for many months. Had that fixed a while ago. But I knew the gas/air mix ran rich for a while. Had the "150K" service done with new engine oil/gear oil /wheel bearing grease all around, plus spark plugs. Had these done at a mechanic. The wheel bearings were ok, but had some play in them that added more road noise than I would have thought.

I then did the oxygen sensors myself as an after thought. No codes were thrown, but with the rich fuel mixture I thought it best.
They looked ragged when I pulled them (see pic). A bit surprised no codes were being thrown!

Running smoother, quieter, and 10% better MPG.

Not the weekend, but this was where I parked at work Tuesday morning. There's a 100-series behind the tree and a 120 hiding behind Mark's blue 80. Only thing missing was Kyle's white 80.

We don't get snow here. Only mud and sand.

Is that a devil behind the front tire? :)

First thing when I saw that pic was "that must be an AZ or CA truck" just looking at the fact they came out intact and not by cutting them out.

Either someone swapped out a blown V8 or perhaps I got an exhaust leak. Hoping it's something very simple like an exhaust gasket. Power is nil. Can't go above 15mph. Too late to tear into it right. Going to sleep and just say fawk it.

Whoa, sounds pretty sick though.

Well, I thought I was going to sleep but, I can't. I'm visualizing everything in my head trying to figure out what it is before I even get in there to figure it out. I'm still towards something basically simple but the complete loss of power is interesting. No CEL. Of course I didn't drive long enough to throw a code I think. :meh:

Sorry I've been MIA lately guys. My wife and I are expecting triplets in June, so I've been slammed trying to get things ready. We have a 2010 Sequoia with the 5.7 which will be our primary transport, but I've been trying to get the 80 ready in between house projects in preparation.

Mechanically, I have gotten everything running great again, replacing exhaust gaskets, 02 sensors, hoses, belts, etc...boring stuff. Then had Marshall @Trollhole rebuild my front axle for me (no time to get it done), so I'm not slinging gear oil all over the truck anymore. I also put my second and third row seats back in for the first time in several years. Kind of weird not having a big empty truck anymore. Then, last weekend I had to pull the rear bumper off. It was bent up on the corners to the point where I couldn't open the tailgate anymore. Probably going to run around like that for the time being until I can fab something up for it. Lots of other parts were replaced last year due to breakage on the trail, so I'm hoping I'm sitting pretty for the time being.

So, that's about it for now. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I'm still going to be around lurking a lot, just won't have many updates. It's going to be wild around the house with 3 big dogs and 3 babies, but I'm really excited. I'm friends with a good many of you guys on the Facebooks, so you'll see some updates there as well.

I think it's only fitting that last year was an epic one for me with wheeling and camping trips and I was able to get out at least once a month and had several big out of town trips, because this year will most likely be too hectic for us to travel.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, just haven't talked to you guys in a while!

Wow, I wonder if the squeeze has "grown" over the years with more and more rigs going out there?

Last time I was there was in 2008 I think, I had a 4runner and my buddy was in his 80. He got 3" indentations down the length of his truck on both sides! Of course, he didn't care much luckily. Either way, I would have bet money on it that an 80 would never fit without body damage.

Maybe you're just a better driver hah. But that is cool you only got through with minimal damage! Great.

From 2008 (?)

Was more like yesterday, but I finally removed that "awesome" K&N air filter the PO had in there.
Dropped in a new, larger, Toyota filter! Yea OEM!!!

Damn dude. Hope it's something simple. This sucks.

I rebuilt my starter. It actually still worked, but on really cold mornings, the contacts wouldnt quite get it done, and I'd have to cycle the key several times. I picked up the contacts, plunger, and replacement screws here locally (Texas Alternator and Starter) for a total of 13.00. Great service. It is totally a one banana job, I didnt even have any trouble getting it off or reinstalling it. Well designed placement and product. I intended to do a tutorial on it, even have the camera set up on the tri pod, but my Son took ill, and I just didn't have the time.

This video shows the inside of the "solenoid"

the actual starter motor casing. My brushes were basically brand new. Not bad for 254,000 miles

lots of grease in the gear unit, I cleaned it up a little, but everything looks great inside.
