While I'm waiting on my bumpers from Luke, this is what I'm doing in my 80's that run 35's:

The seat mounting bar and the floor tie down points allow the two lower ratcheting straps to really grab on tight. The upper strap to the grab handle is there just for a little top control.
I did this same thing years ago before I had my rear bumper. Maybe I had the straps a little too tight but after a few hours on the trail I noticed it had started to pop the side window out. About 1/3 of the window had pushed free of the channel, gasket and all. Just keep an eye on it.

It sucks. "Someone" needs to make a relocator. :hmm:

How often does it need to be replaced? My truck has ~280k and no idea when/if it has been changed. I am replacing it while doing a plenum cleanup as a "while I am in there...." item in the coming weeks.

Pretty sure its supposed to be every 25k. But I'll need to check out the manual again to be sure. I'm really bad at replacing these at appropriate intervals.

I'm at 10x that interval! I guess I should do it someday...

My 60 is carbureted and has the see-thru inline filter. It takes no time at all to get that thing dark and gross looking. On that truck the fuel filter can be a source of fuel issues so I keep on it. Now I imagine what the fuel filter looks like and it's been 50k so far since I've touched it. But I've also never opened one up and I'm curious.

I removed the starter on my 80 to inspect the drive plate. Turns out one of the tooth is chipped which could explain the reason why my starter makes a clunking noise when cranking it up.

Sunset on the south shore. Nice way to close out the weekend....even nicer when its only a 2 minute drive in the Land Cruiser from my house.

I really can not wait to get back to the Islands. It would be even better to be on the Islands with a cruiser.

Not the weekend but my 14 year old son was home sick from school today so it was an extended weekend for him. He texted me to google "why are jeeps" and "why are land cruisers". So I did. I sent him the screen shots of what my results were. His reaction is classic. I've raised my son well.
