2 things first the truck looks sick, well done. What type of wheels are those and also any true difference with Delta add on?
got a hold of some ZJ 5.9L Cherokee louvers in my attempt to reduce some under hood engine temp, will send pic after.

Those look to be in good shape.
I'm still debating as to wether I would vent air from the top down (facing forwards) as to me it would be better to push clean cool air down across the motor instead of pulling road dust or moisture up (it's dirty enough as is).
Or if it would be nice in the winter months when there is more moisture and debris to be pushing warm air up in front of the windscreen (vents facing back), to help melt snow or ice, or if it would help the airflow push stuff up and over the windscreen to some degree.
I'm leaning towards mounting one over the turbo/exhaust pushing down, and over the air compressor on the opposite side to do the same to have the most benefits, but I need to hear more feedback before I'd consider following through on it.
Haha! Hey I don’t like making mistakes. That takes time![]()
Are you running a air cooled top mount intercooler for the 6BT? If not, there will be little to no benefit in pushing cooler air down to the engine bay. Most forward facing hood scoot like Subaru is pushing air down into the top mount intercooler. For me, the backward facing vent will help releasing the hot exhaust air from the radiator fan from the engine bay. It is similar to my V-mount intercooler setup in my RX-7, by drawing hot air away from the radiator and intercooler out to the hood vents.
very nice, have never seen an STI scoot on an 80, so would be interesting in seeing it when done. Will you be fabricating a hood shroud to work with the top mount IC or try to reuse STI factory shroud? For slow wheeling, have you thought about using AI (water injection)? good luck with your project, and definitely looking forward to seeing the build.Funny, I'm in the process of building a top mount, had most of it welded out, gotta scabricates together the rest, I have an STI scoop for it in the garage but haven't cut it in to the hood yet, might do that this week and try and get the rest built soon after, this was done on Saturday.

The upper and lower pieces of the piping to the manifold are welded on, and the intake side is tacked in place (not shown), I have to build the front and back faces, but I'll need to pull the turbo and crossover to finish fitting it, might be able to mount the new turbo in the interim till its finished.
It should make it run cooler with the IC and air getting pushed past the motor, I have a couple electric fans that should fit on top of the IC, my thinking is that on the trail I might be facing heat soak without highway speeds. I have most of the electrical for it in place.
Also got a fill cap welded on the front valve cover, I want to eliminate the one on the timing cover at some point.

Blue Sea P/N?Now that I have a fuse box in the quarter panel I wanted to install a 12V/USB outlet that was within easy reach to charge electronics and the such. I figured my daughter isn't going to take up smoking at 10 years old, so I wanted to get rid of the stupid ashtray at the same time. Luckily, Blue Sea has an outlet that fit that exact area with some minor cutting of the interior panel.

Handy template I lined up with the ashtray opening. Didn't have to cut through any of the reinforcement ribs.

I don't know why this came out upside down.

Before I got home the CEL came on with a code 26. O2 sensors are OEM with less than 10K on them.![]()
Its means that tomorrow I will put one of the old sensors back in to see if it clears. I just hope that my sliders and cat guard are not in the way. Neither were fitted when I changed the O2's earlier..![]()
What SHOULD they be running?
