Went camping for a few days in Green Mountain National Forest in Central Vermont. Had a brake shoe adjuster issues all weekend where it was over adjusting for some reason and binding against the drum. Was able to have someone put the truck on a lift for quick and easy adjustment (twice). Didn't feel like doing that on the side of the road with a screwdriver.

Overall a great trip with a cruise down the New York side of Lake Champlain on the way home.

Found a spare to match the new 265/75/16's that will be going on this week. $75 for a wheel and good used tire at a local truck breaker, took it next door and had it mounted and ballanced for $15. Still considerably less than one new tire alone, so I'm happy.

in the Sierra National Forest.

Any scrubbing at all spud, im contemplating 35s. Did u notice much power loss/lower cruising revs? Cheers
Now and again I can hear a little rubbing coming from the right front, but I attribute this to the weak as piss leaf springs that I got from Don Kyatt in Darwin, they keep dropping.
Once I sort this spring out it will be ok.

What are the details on that lift? Looks perfect!
Ome shackle reversal and anti inversion shackle rear. About 4"of lift from stock off the show room anywhere between 6-8" of lift from a saggin 60.
Here are a couple before pics with 31x10.5x15s.
The last pic is the 31" tires with the lift on it.
I had to pick a double cardan front driveline and have it rebuilt and you need to extend your brake lines from the body to the axles.
I learned this as I was doing the job.
Let me know if you want more info.

1. What did you do to clean the engine so you could paint it?

2. What kind of paint did you use?

3. How long does the paint last under operating temperatures?

Mark,

1) The PO rebuilt and painted the engine within the last year or so, it was still pretty clean. But, I put Simple Green on a rag and toothbrush, wiped down everything I could reach, then used a wax and grease remover, then painted over the existing engine enamel. I ran the motor for about 40 minutes to "bake" the paint.. Directions say to bake at 200F for 20 minutes. This is what I thought was the best way to do this..

2) VHT engine enamel (red and satin black)

3) Not sure on how long it will last, mfg says its good for up to 550F.

I used VHT paint on another motor years ago and it stayed on for the duration of my ownership... (approx 4 years). I figured for $20.00 and a few hours of my time it was worth a go again..

Here's the paint I used:

I spent hours taking apart my tire only to put it back together a few hours later. Why you ask?, because it got me out of doing chores around the house .

The truth is I tried to install runflats on my own and failed :bang:.
