Easy fix…Not at all - brushes totally worn out and jammed…. Was an essay fix
Finishing up this mess. I initially tried the Polyvance padded dash filler and was planning on Sem texture paint, but the dash was so brittle that everytime I touched a “good” spot the vinyl would crack.I ended up just heat gunning all the original vinyl off and recovering with Apollo 4 way stretch marine vinyl. Not perfect by any means, but I’m happy with it. The cracks and speaker grill were filled with fiber flex plastic rods and padded dash filler. If I were to do it again I would glue some very thin foam to the back of the vinyl first to help hide imperfections in the dash pad. Go for it! I just went in with the mindset of worst case is I end up putting a dash cap on it.I want to try this.
Do you have the P/N for the brushes you used, please? Not at all - brushes totally worn out and jammed…. Was an essay fix
I just went the cap route straight away. Yours is a good route.Go for it! I just went in with the mindset of worst case is I end up putting a dash cap on it.
I don’t… I did have to cut about 5mm off the end of each to get them to fit (was very easy to cut with a hacksaw blade), so I don’t think they were factory Toyota… only about $5 though…Do you have the P/N for the brushes you used, please?
Great, thanks for the input.I don’t… I did have to cut about 5mm off the end of each to get them to fit (was very easy to cut with a hacksaw blade), so I don’t think they were factory Toyota… only about $5 though…
Installed a steering gear box I rebuilt and some 4Plus u-bolt flip plates on the front. My 60 is now officially leak free and I feel like I need to have a party to celebrate.
More details in my build thread. That’s the last work before I embark on a 2F rebuild … hopefully.

View attachment 3625032Looks very nice. Do you think your caster shims are installed correctly? I was thinking they need to be fitted thick side facing front.
Did you already have the flip kit? I thought he stopped making them, I'm going to need a flip kit at some point, not sure anyone else makes a 60 series-specific kit.@Davaa Shackle reversal stuff, shims work differently for my application. This is a test anyway, I may change them soon.
Yep, my truck had it installed when I bought it. Judging by the springs I replace I'd say it was put on circa late 90s or early 00s. Check with Man-a-Fre, they might still offer it.Did you already have the flip kit?
