I installed the ARB M002 and M004 harnesses from @cruiseroutfit and added some Hella H4s and H1s with upgraded 100/80 and 100 watt bulbs. Install was very straightforward using the included instructions and an awesome Mud thread, everything works as it should (including the high beam indicator) and holy smokes it’s bright now!! There are some less expensive LED kits out there and I’m sure they’re great but I wanted to keep the more classic headlight look for my build. If you’re on the fence about this mod just do it!

First pic is sealed Sylvania’s, second pic is low beams after install and third is high beams after install.

That is nice light!

Got the H55 mounted up, linkage set, carpet in, driveshaft lengths modified, Tuffy center console mounted up and painted. I can see the light at the end of this manual transmission swap tunnel.

...the flip kit? I thought he stopped making them, I'm going to need a flip kit at some point, not sure anyone else makes a 60 series-specific kit.
Just spoke with Dave yesterday and he shipped mine today.

Did the work a couple weeks ago and have been enjoying the ride. Cleaned and replaced seals, greased bearings. The OEM studs were too short with a 1/4” spacer and the 40 wheels I had widened so I ordered longer studs from Nice Products.

Prior owner did a spring over, I completed it by installing longer front shocks by replacing shock mounts.

I like them, the 60 would sway or roll like an ole ship since it is sprung over. They tightened up the drive. I also have them on my 40.

That’s good to read. Thank you for that. I appreciate it.

Bilsteins on both 60s and the 80.
👍 Running Dobinsons on the 62 and dig them. But, the Pig will likely get the Bilsteins… lots of positivity and more affordable.

I put them in my 40 and it was shocking (no pun intended) how much they improved the ride over my old OMEs. I've used them on 3/4 ton Fords and the like but never felt such a difference. And they hold up really well.

Busy weekend for me, ac compressor was shot, ac radiator and clutch.
All swapped at shop :-/

Can't believe the amount of sludge amd dirt that came out of the system. Think its the first clean since ever.

The picture below the just half what came out. Took a good 12 hrs to clean the system and get everything installed.

i will need to add an ac electric fan as the ac radiator runs top hot. The cooling fan takes too much time to turn full blast.

Looking to make a shock change myself. Wondering what lift height would need extended travel vs. standard Bilsteins?

This is what’s on my front, I’ll have to double check on the rear, I think it’s the same. My 60 is SOA.

With my 40, I jacked up each wheel with the shock not attached. To measure the droop and compression, I sent that info to Bilstein they were very helpful. Did the same for the 60 but a friend had some new shocks that fit perfect.

I was chasing intermittent rough running/ misfiring on the 3FE this weekend. I started diagnosis by scanning the truck and got a code 51 which indicated TPS. I grabbed a new sensor and calibrated it to another throttle body then installed it on the truck. My RPMs at idle before this were around 1000, after installing the new TPS the RPMs dropped to a more normal 700, but it was still running poorly.

I then went and started checking spark plug leads to see if one was loose, it turned out No 2 was. I shoved the lead onto the spark plug and went to drive it. The issues were better, but still there. I then started checking to see if there were loose spark plugs. All the spark plugs were tight, but the thread on piece that the lead connects to has backed off on multiple plugs and was stuck in the lead of No 2.

I swapped out all the plugs and the issues have been resolved.
During the course of this I also found Cylinder 5 plug to be oily.

Nice work hunting down the issue!

Repaired the JimC air pump idler pulley. Toyota Land Cruiser specialty parts - https://tlcperformance.com/ Contacted JimC regarding a replacement for the bearing and pulley and he makes those available for ca. $40. Not on his website, so if you want one contact him directly.
Easy fix, just unscrew the nut, slide out the bolt, remove junk, replace with good. The nut has a nylon insert and I reused it but with a liberal amount of blue Loctite.
