Great minds think alike. Cool that these are still available.

Also replaced the broke in half electric antenna mast with a manual one. Gets awesome reception.
So, there are two reservoirs up front, not counting the rad overflow. Which one is this?

This is the front windshield washer fluid. On my FJ62 the only other plastic reservoirs I see are rad overflow to the right of the rad and the brake fluid reservoir on the booster. Power steering has a steel reservoir.

1990 62 will be in the paint barn another two weeks since the tech doing it can only work on it on weekends. Painting will complete next weekend (Labor Day), then at least one or two more weekends to polish. Gutters also sealed with the flowing combined material like the 3M as part of prep.

In the mean time, I spent the weekend shooting the rear vent covers and wiper arms. Also organized all the parts so that I don't screw the pooch and lose something. The new emblems and license plate lighting body piece are already with the shop tech to install. The vent cover gaskets are soaking in restoration goo.

I hate the wait for the paint job to complete, but appreciate the time dedicated to it.

Could you share some info on this gasket soaking goo??

After owning this heap for 3 years I found out the AC works still in R12. (I'm sure I was told otherwise.) . Also found out why I'm bottoming at 56 degrees at the vents.

Gotta love a $28 Amazon endoscope. Now to read up on evaporator cleaning.

Refurb for Black Stuff.jpg

I let things soak for a few minutes, then take an old toothbrush to them to scrub off oxidated black plastic or rubber. Gets really messy. Then into a ziplock with the spray goo for a few days (since the vehicle is not here). I don't know how much it really helps, but it might a bit.

Please share it when you find it.

I finished item numbers 6 and 7 on my 49 point list: new clutch & rear main seal. With new confidence, I took it for a nice long drive in the mountains, got lunch, and maybe found my new home...
