Looks good though what percentage did you do?

New rims or just polishing the old ones?
Thanks. It's 20% in rear but in the Front it's 50%. i wish I could have done 35% on front passenger and driver (..but its the Commonwealth)'so the contrast wouldn' be too much. You can' tell contrast in pic. I will get the rust off rims and go for grey. Something different (I think the white and grey will compliment each other)and eventually put 31x10.5 on it.

Got my rear seat recovered and set the timing correctly (was running 14 deg BTDC instead of 7, which would explain the pinging), attempted the lean drop idle mixture setting, and properly set the high idle speed (was way high, 2700 RPM). Cleaned up some vacuum leaks, now running at 20 inches. Might re-do valves if I get bored and the rain stays away.

However, I did learn that my dizzy's primary vac adv port is shot (won't hold vacuum) - so I've been driving it all this time on the mech advance (I am desmogged with a recurved dizzy from Jim C and don't have anything hooked up to the secondary adv port since my HAC is removed) - should I add some advance back in, just enough to stave off pingage?

Bump up the timing to about 10 or 11 and see how it runs.

Another big day today and significant milestone achieved in my '86 FJ60 build. Installed the refurbished tie rod and drag link, complete with new 555 brand tie rod ends and drag link ends, also the OME steering stabiliser. With the help of my wife I finished the front end alignment (toe-in) and adjusted the drag link to center the steering wheel. Torqued everything to spec and installed cotter pins where called for. First thing in the morning I'll winch it to the top of the driveway with my '76 FJ40, where it's pretty flat, to get ready for the installation of the new H55f and my '89 FJ62 split transfer case, which has been modified to manual front drive engagement. My youngest son will be here by noon to assist. Will get to use the new HFT 800-lb. transmission jack.

And I got a parts package in the mail today, including the last couple of items to get the axles to 100%. O-rings for the front locking hub dials and bushings for the front sway bar. Hoping to get that wrapped up before my son shows up, maybe even the OME shocks front and rear.

Photos tomorrow.

Bought five new KO2s yesterday. Rubber overdrive is a welcome feature. These are 33x10.5, feels like the right tire size. Have not noticed any sort power loss jumping up tire sizes. Also white letters facing out for ultimate retro look :D

The second photo looks like it was taken in South Park, maybe after crossing over the pass from one of the early-opening ski areas in the Breckenridge area? We're not expected to get much snow in northern New Mexico this winter, so it looks like we'll have to head north into Colorado for any decent snowshoeing.

Spot on John. Highway 9 is one of my favorite paved roads in Colorado. Skied Loveland yesterday
