Adjusted valves and steering box two weekends back. Wanted to change both belts but power steering belt tensioner has seized. I don't know yet how to get it free.

Ain't selling. Not after how far I've sunk myself into her. Cool to see the Area 51 article too. I honestly have never really read anything about it. It's very cool. So my truck IS special. :)

Shifted a lifter into place w/ a telescoping magnet and a flashlight and a lot of pissing and moaning while I hovered on the right fender edge w/ my feet pretty much in the air. Being 5'5" and trying to reach anything in the middle of the bay is a feat in itself!
Inspected my push rods. Found number four to have a funky gouge in it. Same one the lifter tried to come up w/ when I removed them. Makes me wonder how a big mark like that would happen?
Wire wheeled, degreased, painted and hopefully curing the exhaust manifold the right(er) way the second time around.
Darn pixs uploaded backwards but y'all get it.

Changed out the smog pump today. Super dirty and unpleasant job with no working room. It reminded me why I desmogged my FJ40 and how sweet it runs that way!

I need a new address without a smog test requirement!

yeah. removing my smog pump resulted in finding some washers and a couple of bolts of when it was replaced in april 2016.one of the pipes actually ruptured and nastified the area....other than that it's off and stored all cleaned up.

wondering on what the best course of action to replace the rubber protection on the transfer case rod..

Even with the move to Redding and our cruisers are in top shape... I went the 3 year WY registration route through our PMB.

The one thing I'll miss is how easy registration and NO state inspections are here.

This is really the culmination of about 4 weeks worth since acquiring it.

Issue: Power steering pump pulley was rubbing the upper radiator hose.
Cause: Man A Free bracket installed without correcting the Saginaw pump to a proper Toyota pulley.
Repair: Replaced MAF Saginaw setup with new Saginaw kit (Georg @orangefj45 @ Valley Hybrids and Cruiser Brothers) (Pump, modified bracket, adapter bracket from George, his high-pressure line), air-pump delete idler pulley from Jim Chenowith @FJ40Jim (TLC in Lancaster, OH). Previous Owner (PO) eliminated OEM power-steering pump bracket + air-pump adjustment bracket. Replaced missing air-pump adjuster bracket with used-OEM from www.sor.com (great service).
