Not the weekend, but today is the wife/copilot's birthday.

For that occasion our tradition is to drive the Phantom Canyon - Shelf Road loop with a stop in Victor CO. This accomplishes two objectives: (1) She gets flowers for her birthday in the form of a lot of wild flowers along the road. (2) She has lunch and a piece of birthday cake at the Gold Camp Bakery, Cafe & Deli in Victor.

If you're in the Cripple Creek / Victor area, I highly recommend the Gold Camp Deli. Excellent food - made to order deli sandwiches, Cornish pasties, and outstanding home made desserts. The wife's favorite is a cake called Bee Sting which is a German item and this is the only place we've seen it offered.

There nothing quite like a Cruiser road trip.
Equal parts chillax'd enjoyment and obsessive apprehension.

So well put. I usually take my mechanically flawless 100 series out of state but this girl needed the love

Not on the weekend persay, but from vacation in southwest Utah of which we returned late last week. Saw another HJ61 in Zion, hailing from British Columbia, and an FJ60 at a gas station with a kayak on top. Very cool to see the 60 series cruisers out in the wild still doing what they do best.

Made it. 300 miles averaged 13 mph and only used 2 quarts of oil :)

You fouling plugs at all? Mine at 230K uses less than 1 quart in 2000 miles. Good looking 60 though.

Hopefully you meant 13 mpg. At 13 mph, you could have ridden your bicycle faster! I mean, they are slow, but not that slow.

Went on a run in the White Mountains east of Big pine,Ca.

Seeing all those 60's wheeling in the desert is a beautiful sight! Well done!

Cheers!

Thanks. I think we represent about 85% of the 60s around here. We are the only fj60s in our 4x4 club. It was rare to outnumber the Jeeps:clap:

Looks like they ditched the heep. Lol. Or it ditched itself.

Nope. It's really a weird deal. Lots of people have tried to think it out for me. Bottom line is it runs great. Gets good mileage and puffs blue smoke at start and shifts. I can live with it. I love my 2F
