...bought a head gasket

And found a good place to put it.

Checked to see if the Hi-Po intake manifold will fit with the headers...looks like it might.

Drove it! Even with the bad/loud engine knock and no rear windows! Couldn't wait for an engine rebuild.

done yet?

Nope. Got the head torqued down, manifolds are torqued on, but I still want to re-locate the power steering pump, might as well change the oilpan gasket while the pan is empty...might even think about putting on that double-wide front pulley.

hahahahaha.....it will never END!!!!!

you know, your headers are rusty, maybe you should have them coated. plus, the manifold needs some polishing, while you're at it, maybe a rering is in order, why just rebuild the top to have a weak low end.....;)

I need to change the front main on the blue piggie, but the rad hoses are kind of gunky too, while i'm at it, the mounts are looking a little crunchy....and this rig is sold. i don't want to do anything.

btw, you're up on fb

is that how you got your wife fj? :D

just back from the parts store, all ready to finish the front end repack, then thinking of taking piggie down to the car show at shifters and show all those hot rods what a real classic looks like (actually, just hoping all the rust will migrate off my pig and onto one of their rigs;) )

If you do this, make sure your water pump pulley lines up first. Don't be a Pedro and install first then realize you dorked it all up. Everthigs gotta match, alignment, groove size..........sigh.

side two of the piggie is done, tools are cleaned and put away, time to head to the bar for the car show

did notice that it appears the bend in my relay rod may be getting worse tho :frown: anybody got one they wanna sell

why flagged?
Hawaii has specific laws for customized vehicles and I had previously attempted to get it inspected and passed. Unfortunately, they said that it would never pass since the roof was cut and they could never be certain of the structural integrity. I later found a place that would give me a regular old safety check, but apparently my license plate was entered into the system saying I had to get it to pass with the other guys first. I think in Britain they call that "buggered."

Got some new shoes today. I have manuel steering, when you get new tires it is what I imagine power steering to be like:) Went from 31x10.5 to 33x10.5. It looks cool. Can't wait to wheel, especially with my new body mounts.:bounce:

Hey I don't have face book. Is there anywhere else that I can hear the "start-up"

Took the family on a 600 mile road trip to the East Side. Wheeling and camping. OD bled a little and had to do an exhaust flange gasket mid-trip. All in all she ran good. Swapping out the tranny to a 4 spd and had it out in about one hour after returning home.. can't wait. It was still warm (and pumping) when I pulled it.. yeah!
