Almost done w/ the front bumper

New spring rates up front, measured and ordered my limit straps, called Alcan about doing a different rear spring. Biggest problem with the rear leafs is that they really limit droop and I am already severely limited on up travel since the stock body is in the way. Might be thinking about a rear 4 link...

I see what you mean, it looks like the rear wheel lip is resting on the tire...

Yeah Pablo, it is just bump stopped to the point where it makes contact. But the opposite side isn't really dropping.

Yippee!!!

CO requires VIN inspection for plates, otherwise I would offer...

haha I do appreciate the offer. I'm gonna shop around at safety check stations, there's gotta be somewhere on the island that won't know and/or care about the modifications.

Found this as a possibility from the Hawaii DMV website in case of any future troubles.
Modified or Custom-built Street Rods

These vehicles have quite a definition range, but the one common denominator is that they are the real thing. That is, the main body or chassis was manufactured by an automobile maker, and at one time or another it was a roadworthy vehicle.
Either the car was manufactured prior to 1968 or it was manufactured after 1967 to look like cars made prior to 1968. Confused yet? Basically, if you customize or modify an old car with a bevy of parts, then you will mostly likely fall into this category. To register the vehicle, you will need the following:

  • You will need to be assigned a vehicle identification number (VIN) if it is either missing or there is more than one. Your county's director of finance is in charge of issuing new VINs.

  • Inspection certificate.

  • Bill of sale or invoice for every part used to modify the vehicle.

  • Certificate of title.

  • Weight certificate from a state scale.

Now that your just two hours away I can get with you and you can help me set my front suspention like your???????

Just got all my seals in from Slocruisers! I'm going to do a tread on the instalation. I'm going to post lots of pictures and give true discriptions on product quality. At 1900 dollars you guys need to know if it is worth the cost at my expence! My 1st inspections of the products is good. the vent window seals seem alittle soft, and the kit didn't come with felt strips. but overall look great.

Yeah we could definitely do something! I have some ideas on how it could be done even better.

A little painting and trying to fix my door handle. I think I have to take off the whole inside mechanism to adjust the damn thing. Also, peaked at my clutch/throwout bearing and confirmed that it was seized. The damn thing barely spins. New one coming in from man-a-fre. Also, got a new hub too because I'm pretty sure I jacked up the one in there when I was pressing off the old bearing.

Laguna,

Let me know how it goes with your door handle. My passenger handle just stopped working from outside. It opens fine from inside.

I will. I know what's wrong with it too. For mine, the bar that extends inward from the outside handle isn't hitting the plate on the inside to push the pushrod down which releases the door latch. I can see where to adjust it because the part can be rotated which will push the plate closer to the rod from the door handle. But, I can't remove that part easily to adjust it. It's all connected. Let me take a pic real fast to show you what I mean. My passenger door was sticking quite a bit so I took that apart and lubed it up again.
EDIT: battery is dead. I'll get it in a few.

Ok here's the pictures. Sorry, it's difficult to get the right angles in there. Anyway, the black circles in the pictures show the rod coming from the door handle, the rod that you can rotate to adjust the distance between the connected (unseen) plate and the rod from the door handle. And the other circle shows the other end of that rod that gets adjusted. It seems to be riveted at the bottom or something. I couldn't get in undone at that point. If there are more questions, then just let me know.
