What did you do to your pig today?

I've thought about doing that, but the risks are high. It's pretty obviously modified, so I'd be worried about getting pulled over a lot. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to risk. :frown: I think I may just be SOL.

damn sorry to hear about this, youve done a ton of work on it....is there a way to get a "modified" home built inspection ? in GA we can make homebuilt trailers (not to live in) and get them a special VIN plate....

how bout calling it a 45?

......I dont want to offend, but if you are going to part it out.......can I send you a list?

No worries. You can send me a list. I'll be able to mail stuff flat rate out of hawaii, especially if it's small i.e. lights etc.
Update: I talked with them again and was told that once the roof and sides were cut, there was anything that they could do. It simply has to be inspected and certified by an automotive engineer.

Dude we got to get you a body out to hawaii! Don't give up on the pig. I would love to see one in hawaii next time i'm out there. Did you see the one on ebay right now only 2500. I'm trying to get two parts rigs right now. Both have good bodies i'll hook you up if i can haul them off. You pay for shipping only.

Thats really stinks man. I have to be honest you are handling this really well. I would be so ticked if someone told me that after all that work. Cheers to you bro!

To somebody local?

Not exactly. Sold it to a guy who works out on the Uintah Basin as a brush fire fighter during the summer, then trains hunting dogs fall/winter up in WA where he lives. He picked up the 55 and was planning to drive it to WA this week. I wonder if it's still in one piece.

You had two Pigs, right? Which one did you sell?

I sold the red one (with the awesome back story) to a cop who is rebuilding his buddies 55. His buddy is also LEO and was shot in the line of duty earlier this year, and they are doing this behind his back to get his spirits up.. The Wasatch Cruisers and Cruiser Outfitters are helping with some aspects of the rebuild, and I unloaded the 'Red Dwarf' to them for whatever they could use it for.

Then, just this week I did sell Clementine; story above.

yea I dont know how you are not strangling the inspector...

Ah, I know what you all mean, but I'm a super laid back and the guys who were working there weren't assholes about it and didn't treat me like I was an idiot. They seemed honest and regretful that they couldn't help me anymore. Plus, I didn't go in with high expectations. Hawaii has crazy laws with what can be done to cars/trucks and it's not there fault. In addition to all that, I just tell myself that it's just like the smog rules in California. There's nothing that can really be done, but accept them. I imagine many people have desmogged their engines, tossed everything, only to find out they are required to have all that stuff on there. I just know now to call and ask before I make any changes to my LC's from now on.

The truck is still sitting in Tucson, AZ at a friend's house until I can get it home. Can't wait.

:bounce:

Sounds like a road trip is in line for Christmas, go get the PIG!

I'll get you guys plenty of photos after it's in my hands. :grinpimp: I won't be able to pick it up until January 8th, then I'll be making the trip back home to Vegas. It's a 1976, pretty close to rust free. It lived in Tucson its whole life, 175k on the original drivetrain. Stock everywhere. I'm plenty excited. :bounce:

New spring rates up front, measured and ordered my limit straps, called Alcan about doing a different rear spring. Biggest problem with the rear leafs is that they really limit droop and I am already severely limited on up travel since the stock body is in the way. Might be thinking about a rear 4 link...
