What did you do to your pig today?

New light bulbs all around, ordered a dash cap and new center pad and new shift ball. Also installed a windshield sprayer kit as my piggy didn't have one and I need one to pass state inspection. Still working on the brakes.

Removed the windshield and cargo windows and started stripping more paint off.

Cleaned up the areas around the windshield and cargo windows of aircraft stripper gunk. Bought some media blasting supplies and ordered the steel to build the rotisserie for the body repair and painting. Cant wait to get the body off the frame and kick some rust ass!

Also started researching some different options for rear cargo windows. I don't think I'm going to re-install the originals. May go with a slider of some kind.

I will be fabbing up something similar to this for my rear window. I'm also working on the side cargo windows.

Looking forward to what you come up with. I know that someday the only option will be to fab something yourself, so why not do it now? Good Luck

did some stuff to my pig over the last couple days. i put in a new cb radio with new antena bought a high steer kit and some rock sliders. past tech inspection today with it too at the club meeting now i got to start installing parts i have for it

I would bash the crap outta my knee with it right there.

I pulled the cases on the little pig today. four of the six bolts going from the trans to 203 GRB adapter had pulled the threads out. Got 3 of 'em drilled and helicoiled. I'll have the other three done by the end of the day. Getting it re-stabbed might not happen today.

Snake River Truck in Meridian ID, is the place where my Piggy is getting its new lease on life. They are an ARE camper shell dealer. We are trying to come up with some different window options. Some pretty cool options for the side cargo windows with either sliders or pop-out vents, or even the ones that are hinged on top so you can access the cargo area from the side! The rear will definitely take the most work though. If I had unlimited funds I know what setup I would use, but that is definitely not in the cards, so it will probably be similar to Deans, but will actually seal outside of the original opening and be a wider window.

Will seal in these areas.

Will seal in these areas.

On mine, the PO had a piece of glass cut and framed to the size of the opening. It has hinges on the top and held closed by rubber bumpers on the tailgate. I will try to get some pictures this weekend.

Interesting... Would like to see some pics of the inside as well.

What do folks have against the OEM power window? Mine works just fine!

Mine worked too, but water was still able to get into the tailgate, and lots of dust because the seals were no good. I just refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to rebuild a system that has huge design flaws. Not to mention that someday those weatherstrips will probably be completely unavailable. Also, if the battery is dead, or the motor gear breaks, you can't open the window or the tailgate without disassembling it!

Today I spent most of the day helping install a lift kit on a friends truck, so no piggy work. Yesterday I cut up quite a bit of the steel pieces for the Rotisserie build though!

Finally got my new 'ponitac' seats installed with a 10" tuffy box. Took my wife for a drive yesterday. She is jealous because I have heated seats and her xterra dosen't :);p

Also dumped the B&M shifter and put a Lokar 12" shifter. A lot better. Small, compact and out of the way. Still have to hook up back up light swtich.

Met Jon Jurlando and Chris Cole(sorry if I spelled that wrong) for a little FJ55 ride. Chris is working on a 55 project and has lost a little of the passion so Jon brought him up to go for a ride in my 55. Tried to find a little wheeling in Old Town Alexandria, so much for that idea! Chris is a cool guy with lots of mechanical knowledge and I can't wait to see what he comes up with on his new 55.

Oh and learned of a really cool thing that one of the Cruiser Shops is doing for a friend that has cancer. Not sure if it is supposed to be let out of the bag yet, but this guy really really deserves it!! He would do anything for you.

Ryan.
