Stabbbbbbbbed the gearboxes into the clutch assy, and installed the errectric fan- may have wounded the 60 series radiator:doh:. It was raining at the time, so it may have just been a drop. Have to ship the shock back and tell them again what my compressed heights were.......and ask where is my steering damper is.
 
Attempted to sand blast the whole interior on IronPig ( aka my main project ), didn't really work out. Then I stripped my parts pig to the body and tomorrow I am going to start cutting the body apart to salvage some body panels.
 
Removed all four doors for easier access to the cab. Tore out the ratty headliner. Stared at it for quite a while praying to the money gods for some help.
 
Drove it to Anderson, SC from Atlanta this weekend. Had to do a little choke adjustment to get her running, but other than that, just drove her on the first nice day this year!

I picked up a THC carb from Trollhole while I was up there and will get it installed here pretty soon.
 
I welded in some patches around the bottom of the b pillars on both sides, turned out pretty good.
 
Pilot bearing, rear main seal in, and flywheel on. Still have to torque it down? Question: So my rear main seal got kind of mushed when I was putting it in. There is one portion, about half a centimeter, where a bit of rubber got messed up and is overhanging the crankcase by a tiny little bit. Is this a no go? Or can I roll with it? The seal seems to be intact, but I thought I'd check with you all.
 
can you post a pic of this bit of rubber? I a leaning towards try it again-:doh:- but I think a pic would help everyone here give a more solid suggestion. Did you drop the rear main cap to install the seal? I know having to replace the pan gasket is a glitch, but by drpping the pan and cap, it allows for the seal to be inserted easily w/o damage AND gives you a peek at the bottom end. Get a one piece pan gasket. I used the four piece POS and was able to get it to seal, but will from now on use the one piece. For the amount of effort you have to go to to change that seal, do you want to do it now w/ everything still open, or do you want to take it all apart and start over three weeks or days from the time you get it going again?

Hate to say it but X2 on the do over. Especially if you have my luck with seals. If it were me, the first time I would fire it up, it would spray a steady oil stream and make a mess over over the place. But thats just me and my luck. :meh:

Here's a pic of what I did to the rear main seal...

I took out the seal as it's pretty obviously toast. I still have the old seal which is still perfectly intact and looks great. Can I just reuse the old one? The only reason I tried to replace them was because I was in there. Otherwise I'm giving toyota parts a call tomorrow.
