While the exhaust being TIG welded, I struggled this morning with the 32 gallon water tank. I think it will work leaving 7” on the side for the 6” muffler. It’s tight.

Removed the hood liner and applied Sikaflex seam sealer between the supports and the hood. 18 new clips to put the liner back on (90467-09014).

Kind of a cross post, and happened a week ago. But had a fellow mud member, @sofj45, come out for a visit. Good times, although too short, and lots of talking story. First time I've been at the beach and no one was interested in my truck! Everyone that passed by wanted to know about the Pig!

Family of 5 from Hawaii hitting all 50 states this summer. Legends! And you can follow along their trip here:

Seems to be a lot of ex 55 owners now with 70 series and I have to say how the heck did you let your piggy go? I pretty much have my dream/forever truck, but man, a 55 with a 5 speed and a diesel and I'm gone.

Talk me into keeping mine! (won't take much, but has crossed my mind sadly)

Man, your work and that truck are absolutely awesome. Thanks for the inspiration.

Divorce forced the sale of my 55’s several years ago. Still miss that solid ‘76 all original 55 everyday! Don’t miss that wife at all though. Tough choice, but decided to keep a 40 and she kept an 80…for reasons.

Mistakes were made. Cruisers were harmed. Character was built.

Viva la 70 Series!

Was this done to reduce the hood shake that these are known for? Did it work?
Yes. Hood vibration is gone when driving. Also no more resonance sound when I close the hood, sounds solid.
