Finally got this baby running after 36 months of stripping to the frame. Body was 2 years with @kelly saad using 25 OEM panels from Japan and he has done a spectacular job building a car from a mosaic of parts. Put 22 miles on it and it rides like a dream. Terrain Tamer parabolic springs and adjustable shocks installed by @orangefj45 and his golden crew. Can’t say enough good things about them. All instruments working including the 80 series speedometer deleting the mechanical cable. I can add now the 80 CC.

Had the guts to take it on the freeway to 60mph. Baby steps. Still electrical small tasks. Hook the elockers, ac, etc. then start building the camper.

The aluminum tank in the second photo (left side) is the coolant tank for the hydronic heater.

It is a humbling experience building these rigs. So many mistakes and so much knowledge absorbed from this community. Thank you all.

That’s a terrific grill…where did you get one please?

In order to make the front end roll, the wheels need some loving’.

Although I’m not after perfection ( coz I can’t🙄), these will do the trick.
Epoxy primer after blasting, scotch pad rub down then silver 2 pack , then 5 coats of lacquer.

Going to bake in the sun as the oven indoors is Not an option.

The wheels look great! I need to do the same thing; what media did you blast them with?

It was made by @kelly saad of LANDCRUISER GRILLS. It was a prototype and since he did not have the car, it was a shot n the dark. I spent a day modifying it so it will ‘semi’ fit. I think that Kelly will make them if there is a relatively decent order (7-10?). I needed this custom grill to fit the intercooler. There is about 2mm gap between the two.

Copied this:

I initially tried to use a 40mm long bolt with no spacer as that's what I had on hand...needed to space it out about 5mm to get the mount to not interfere with the handle. With the spacer, the 40mm bolt did not have enough thread engagement, so went and bought the 50mm long one from HD.

Thanks, @TheEngineer

I finally tackled my rear wall and added the roof liner that has remained unfinished since converting the roof from the high top to the OEM standard height.

The goal was to make it as factory-like as possible. Nice to have this one ticked off the list of to-dos.

I got 2 pdi front mount intercoolers waiting here so I might be in the market for 2 of these grills

@JDM Journeys …. “across an international border,”

I called ahead and told them a guy in a two-tone Isuzu Trooper was headed their way and let him through.

Glad someone found this useful! Some blue loctite on the threads should help keep it in place. I had some rotation issues with the ball when it gets hot out. It got hot enough in the cab to deform the RAM mount so it's now more oval than sphere.

So @kelly saad charges $1250 for the grill (it's made of about 15 parts) and I think he would do them if there is 5-6 orders. You can contact him directly.

Looking good. I like both sets of wheels, though the new ones are a better fit for your 70. I believe your old wheels are from a Nissan hardbody truck. They resemble LX 450 wheels.
