Loaded up with wood to be cut and split into firewood.
Took a trip to the Salmon lake Resort on the Douglas Lake Ranch. This is heading towards Merritt on the Douglas Lake Rd. 60km of nothing but a beautiful road to cruise on. Pyrometer and boost gauge worked flawlessly. Only hiccup was a really bad death wobble just outside of Merritt, two perfectly placed bumps in the road and everything went to hell. Bushings are next on the list.
Finally got all the parts for this swap. Went with Holley retrobright headlights. I don’t like the look of the blacked out aftermarket versions. They’re standard 5x7 sizing but you’ll also need the adapter “retrobright ground switched harness” part number HLY-H840 on summit racing. This is the diagram I found here, shoutout to @OSS.
The original screws disintegrated when I tried to remove them and the rust had welded the bucket to the headlight ring so I ordered new everything. Was able to source the buckets, screws, springs and rings for fresh start.
Old and busted vs new hotness
Hopefully we’ll be able to see in the dark now. All the new cars headlights in our area drown out our lights and we can’t see in the woods that well. The upper cutoff on these is pretty great.

thanks for the write up. looking forward to your experience in the dark. been thinking of going this route for my ute, but I hardly drive at night anymore, but did the other night and it did drive home the fact that a headlight upgrade may still be desired.

Should only take ten minutes
Replaced one of the 2 tension springs on my throttle cable to fix the touchy accelerator pedal the 12HT is renowned for.
Has made a huge difference on my test run around the block.The old spring had little resistance compared to the new one. Came in a packet of 2 from local hardware store so I’ll keep the other one in tool box incase 4WDing still causes some bunny hopping.

I found a shop in Spain that had the correct springs in stock, but the throttle is still pretty touchy when off road.
Or the rotors...Starting the caliper rebuild. I'm pretty sure the pads are not supposed to look like that

I am curious of your impressions with these. With the days getting shorter I have noticed I am not as confident as I once was with the original headlights.

I think the original springs tension is too weak making the resistance too touchy. If you look at the wire thickness of them both the aftermarket wire is thicker making it harder to depress accelerator. I’ll let you know more when I go off road.
Haven’t had a chance to drive when it’s really dark out but here’s what they look like in the driveway. Low beam then high beam.
They’re a much whiter light in person than in the photos.
The caps are different part numbers and ordered individually outside of just getting the pull handle.
