Such a beautiful truck.Been using the 75 to haul water lately. 2200lbs (~250 gallons) of water only sags the rear 2 inches. We don't need to drive it far but it does pretty good going up steep roads in the mountains.

Beautiful truck and trip picsMade the 15 hour trek from VA to ME to spend time in Acadia National Park. Not having cruise control was a pain but otherwise it was a great drive. Managed to maintain 75mph and get roughly 20.5mpg with 4 adults, a dog and a week worth of stuff for everyone in the trunk.

Left the dog in the car to grab coffee. I call this one "The look of betrayal"

I pushed the car on the way there, maintaining 80-85mph and the mpg was significantly worse. I think we burned an extra 3/4 of a tank on the way there. After we got there we had an issue with fuel leaking overnight from the filter and I had to give it gas while cranking to get it to start. I panicked and ordered a new filter, filter housing, fuel lines and a one way valve expecting that I would have to replace everything after limping it all the way back to VA. We've had no issues since day 2 of the trip and the slower trip home was uneventful. I'll wait a few weeks to see if the issue comes back, I'm chalking it up to it not liking driving that fast for several hours at a time.
I ordered the "cold weather" version of the filter housing with a built-in heating element. We have the wiring for it and it'd be nice in the winter even though we haven't had trouble starting it so far.

Everytime I'm on the interstate I drive 80-85 mph. I keep my fuel and cooling systems in excellent shape so I can drive the truck like I stole it lol. In my experience the 1KZ-TE is a hell of a powerplant that delivers ample power reliably, I only wish I have a fifth speed on my transmission and maybe a cruise control.
Cheers.
Ok.... so I have to ask... I have a 1HZ (non turbo) Troopy with a 5 speed manual and 70mph really seems to be the top end (as determined by the way it "feels") I'm going to be swapping to ATs instead of MT tires and dropping in an all new springs and shocks etc ... maybe it's the "ride" as it is now that's making it feel like it does?Everytime I'm on the interstate I drive 80-85 mph.

Am I off base?
You can get the "ride" dialed in so it "feels" good, with suspension, tire selection, and brake work, but asking an old 1Hz to push a loaded troopy at 80-85 on the interstate is pretty unrealistic.Ok.... so I have to ask...
