Spent yesterday evening and this afternoon putting it back in.

Lots and lots of white smoke when I started it. Seemed to dissipate over 15 mins or so, (I was watching it as I added coolant to top up the system). Then I had a few hiccups on the way up the street on the first drive, some more smoke, and eventually it stopped belching.

White smoke on startup was why I got this rebuilt in the first place (well, also it had 262k kms and was 32 years old), so I'm hoping this was trapped air, and that a cold start tomorrow will give me a slight puff and then Cruiser bliss?

Headlight upgrade to LED. H4 harness fixed high beam indicator issue and ensured low/high functionality on first test. Still need to wire in turn flasher and eventually DRL.

There is a yellow two pin plug coming off the headlight harness, behind my finger. Anyone know what that is for?

Any chance you have a step by step for disassembly?

Smash and grab last month. @ofer bruhis to the rescue! I asked where to order new glass, and he said he had one 7 miles away, but he didn't know which side, and told me to come by the next day after work. Fortunately he had the correct side, and I installed it the following day. Less than 3 days start to finish, and it didn't rain. This greatly reduced the sting of losing $700 of snap-on wrenches my uncle gave me 30 years ago.
Thanks again Ofer, I owe you big.

I used to run my keyboards thru the dish washer, works great as long as you let them dry out 100% before you plug them back in.
