Yeah sorry for too many questions man. The new E15 gasoline is kicking my ass in my lawn mower and small engines. The plastic gas can I've been using for 20 years ain't cutting it no more. Alcohol in this new gas keeps absorbing moisture and liquid. I really like the VP racing 5 gallon cans for 35 bucks at the parts store, but it'd be nice to get a Jerry can size shape jug.

You could contact @VidereStudios

He brings in the the military grade ones and sells here:

Inventory changes frequently but I think he keeps the first page of the thread updated to what he has currently in stock.

If anyones interested…… Tractor Supply is carrying the Scepter diesel fuel cans. The Scepter water can was available at Lowes. ** Both were in the $40.00 - $50.00 range. View attachment 3104884View attachment 3104885

I keep coming up short on finding 8274s. Missed one for $300 by an hour. The rest have been $1000 used and I mean used. No thanks.
with new ones at 2600$ now a 1000$ is not a bad deal if it is a later version , finding a 24v one is the kicker for us or you can always find a used 12v one and convert it to 24v but in the end you are cheaper to just buy a Come up or other brand 24v winch .

I’m a 12v, Aussie spec. Yeah If I could find a decent one at $900 it’s still better than anything out there.

I can find the older bellviews for cheap. I had one before and it was ok, but at this point I’d rather just get the 8274. I have a lot of other things to spend money on than a winch I may only use once a year….although that one time could very well be worth it!

Took a quick trip down with the family to Whitefish with the fully loaded (with gear) 79. Had an absolute riot. Pure joy the entire 1800kms. Was getting around 650km to a tank which I was happy with.

Next up powder coat the receiving hitch and install the 8274!

Swapped fluid couplings, foamed shroud to radiator gap, replaced my homemade hood struts with the nice kit from @c2dfj45, installed new hand primer/fuel filter/heater/bracket, replaced fuel hoses and clamps to IP while I was in there, swapped some BFG 255/85R/17 MT's I've had for years onto new 4Runner spare tire rims. Installed them with spacers :( Ordered a new catch can from HPD to replace the Provent I have now. Ooh. Angled my gauges towards the RHS. Money view.

Serviced my BJ73.
This coming weekend, the Buschtaxi-Treffen will take place here in Germany (Thuringia).
Have a look at the YouTube videos linked.

It used to be the biggest Landcruiser/ J7 meeting in Europe, I believe. It's was paused for two years due to the pandemic, though, and it will be my first time to attend. I'm excited! Anybody else from ih8mud to join?

Also will it be the longest trip ever for me in my 1985 BJ73, since I own it: app. 1000km round trip. Fingers crossed, she'll hold up.
After almost 3 month of drought, now of all times a severe weather change, with heavy rain and even storm (up to 10mm / 0.4 inch / 10000 gal/a ), is coming up.
That will be fun camping!
I will leave tomorrow to cover as much distance as possible in dry conditions. A BJ73 in misty rain on a German Autobahn is no good.
Cheers Ralf

If my daily beater would make the 9 hour drive up from Italy, I would go for sure.
Take a bunch of pics!

Knocked together a bumper attachment that allows me to put full 20-24’ sticks of steel on my roof bars. Sure beats taking the truck and flatbed to the steelyard for a couple of pieces.

Tell Peter Stadtler that his old friend Onur in the US says hi.

1000kms round trip, nearly doing that every 2nd week! On lots of bad muddy, corrugated , pot holed roads.
I am sure your cruiser shall look dapper indeed. Have fun, surely, shall hold up. The wallabies really don't care what I am driving. Good to get to a Tribe.

Caught one of the feral cats in my rain forest. Used the troopy exhaust to euthanize it in the cage trap and a blanket. Quite a humane death. I don't kill for fun.
Feral cats kill countless native birds and lizards, for food and fun. They breed with offspring and can have 24 kittens a year. Not cute.
Like the warner bros tassie devil without the comedy. Just really wild, mean killing machines. Do not like them in the bush at all.

Scored myself a lyrebird tail feather, rare as hens teeth. Beautiful thing, no human could ever make it. Gorgeous gentle bird with lots of character.
They malt the feathers this time of year to grow a new lyre. If you have never seen a lyrebird dance, highly recommend a youtubby.

purged air in diesel lines to racor filter
resolved exhaust to fuel line conflict
positioned coastal sliders for measurements of supports
marked exhaust to cut to meet up with downpipe
