With 33" tyres, I'm not measuring miles or km's. I look at the gauge and multiply the reading by 2/3.

One of the mysteries, among hundreds, that arose from this Proffitt’s build was the mix-matched interior colors. Perhaps they simply liked gray and brown or the interior guy was color blind. Almost immediately upon buying this project the highest priority was to return the interior to one color, in this case, gray. Most of the items (floor mats, door cards etc.) were readily available but sourcing factory seats was more of an issue.

The final piece of the puzzle is now complete.

I bookmarked that Lockwood one awhile back... and every once in awhile I check on it. And I can never convince myself that MPH is worth that price. If it was like £50, or even £75, I'd have probably bit the bullet already.

Agreed. I think it use to be priced like their other offerings at around £50, but sometime in the last 2 years (?) it jumped up.

So I don’t sound overly negative, the original seats were top quality and very comfortable.

The transmission change also required new vinyl mats. (The H55 will be headed to the classifieds shortly)

Did my 2000km post engine rebuild oil and filter change. Replaced the sludgy Napa 10/40 dino break in oil with some nice clean QuakerState 10/40 syn/dyno blend. The new engine is running very smooth and quiet (for a diesel). just normal healthy diesel clatter. Coolant level is holding steady and oil consumption is tapering off. Im not sure what to expect for oil consumption. With high rpms
These things turn im expecting around 1K miles to the quart. I had a new Isuzu diesel back in 84. It got about 1000 mi to a quart.

Worked all day yesterday and finished my swing out tire and fuel can carrier. It changed a number of times during fabrication based on metal I had on hand and what I found at the scrap yard. It's about $90 worth of new steel $10 worth of old steel, $7 latch, $13 for a wheel hub, maybe $15 worth of welding wire....... It came out pretty good pretty solid.
My trusty battery powered ready welder died after 17 years of service. So I won't be modifying it anymore until I get a new welder. I'm going to figure out a way to mount the high lift closer to the body and not poking out on the end.....Jerry cans are held in by straps holding them against the tire. You have to swing the carrier open to get at the Jerry cans. Small rear door opens and shuts for ingress egress with no complication.
In the pic I've got cots loaded in next to the 5 gallon water can, we're loaded up to go to the coast and go camping and surf fishing for the weekend.

Cheapest pair of front wheel drive wheel hub and bearing assembly on amazon. The wheel studs pound right out trim off the excess with the plasma cutter or whatever cutter you got come up with a way to weld it down with some plates. It's plenty beefy for a swing out.
Amazon product ASIN B08CC4NSKD

Loaded up the bj73 to go camping for the first time. Will be on the beach with it surf fishing tomorrow. Ran 70 mph with it loaded up for 2 hours down the interstate on mostly flat ground with no overheat or egt issues. This is the first time I've loaded her down. Old man emu medium springs ride nice and smooth loaded up with camping gear.
