My son and I are getting 'Biscuit' our 1992 Model 77 ready for a drive from Virginia to Salt Lake. One of the jobs was to repair the factory battery tray which had gotten pretty ragged over 27 years. It is made of some kind of glass fiber reinforced plastic. I don't think it is fiberglass somehow. Anyways, my son, by himself, made the repair (I am away on a trip to California).

This is an epoxy putty repair to one of the hold-downs for the vertical threaded rods.

It is nice to preserve the original tray, which is very solid. I looked around for an OEM replacement but did not have much luck as the bottom of the tray seems to be unique to the light-duty 70 series, and not too many of them are around.

I’ll add to the cleanup photos going on today. I scrubbed my inner fenders to see what kind of fixes will be needed. Lots of cracks, bends, and rust to deal with but salvageable. I did spray on some rust remover stuff that worked okay.

Found an old TV repairman to solder my funky EDIC.
Was using a stout wire to pull the fuel lever from outside via the grille. Plus I had just moments before finding the TV

Note: While live testing I was able to engage the starter so be careful...
