Hey Guys, I installed some flooring in the back. I went with laminate flooring because its about the best kind of wood you can buy here in Nigeria. The normal ply wood is more like cardboard. Also had my guy here put in some flip down seats its nice to have some extra capacity. Its nice an smooth and much more comfortable than crawling around on the ridges and I haul feed often so its way easier to sweep out.

Collected the steel cuttings that will make my front bumper. Designed them using CAD and told the workshop from where to fold after cutting them using CNC plasma. This makes fabricating the bumper simpler and nicer since the edges are rounded rather than sharp. Will post more photos when it's done.

Installed some small yet critical "sanity" components:

Sick and tired of hearing the rear two doors rattling over every bump because the fitment with the catches and stops are poor.

New parts to the rescue.

Upper stop was totally missing the rubber bumper. Top of door frame was hitting the metal. Annoying as hell. New one installed and life is good.

Then the lower: Equally important due to 31 years of opening and closing on a now rock solid piece of rubber. New parts to the rescue again.

Bingo. 40 minute test drive in miserable GA roads and not a peep.

Hello,

Rerouted the FZJ73's front differential breather.

After all these years the hose started to leak. Replaced it with one long enough to reach the engine bay.

Gearbox finally went back in on the weekend. Decided to get the trans a rebuild since I had it out to install a new HD clutch, but it turned out to need a few hard to find parts. So nice to get the cruiser back on the road after a couple of months, did a 100km test drive to the hunting block & back & she's shifting nicely. HD clutch isn't noticeably harder to push than the old one despite all the warnings on the box about 'Motorsport use only' 'Do not fit to street vehicles' etc

New glow plug resistor (JDM 3B, 24V):

Fuel filter and a quick valve adjust by Tuesday night so I can hit the road Weds morning for the annual Lone Star Roundup.

First full day of working on it. Realized my tool kit I had been using for years on my motorcycle wasnt cutting it with this beast (cheap harbor freight stuff). Headed to Sears and scored a sweet craftsman kit when they put a $-130off discount sticker on it while I was looking at it. That made the decision easy to say the least.
Went home, put new wheels/tires on, changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter. If a purring kitten and a tractor had a baby....it would sound like my 1HZ .

Also, after putting these 255/85r16's on.... I think I may have a 2.5" OME on here that I did not know was coming on it. What a nice surprise! Ill attach a couple photos to get confirmation from you guys. Cant see branding because of protective coating but I can see some yellow on the shocks and that rear pack is beefy.

Installed my 30 mm rear spring spacers, installed the upgraded old man emu 60090 rear shocks. Finished the electrical hook-up of my winch.
Began removing turbo to get replaced. Did loose one of the 14mm head nuts that hold the turbo to the exhaust manifold. Anyone familiar with what size but that is?
