I’ve used a ladder and a step ladder with mixed results but neither is particularly stable. I’ve looked at the steps that attach to your tire but thought I’d ask before making a decision

Post pics if you’ve gottem and let me know if you’re satisfied about your solution

Thanks

I’ve got aviation three step that I use works awesome, I’ll post a pic when I get home , I’m on the road for next two weeks working a plane out of state

Found this today which has potential
Traxion 3-100-FFP Foldable Topside Creeper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QGXSODA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SNEfBbAZX7BAP

great idea .. on the expensive side but looks like it will work ..

And this is the tire step I mentioned in my first post
Heininger 4040 HitchMate TireStep https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Z9KE0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7PEfBbDQR6ZV6

That's funny, I have one of those exact ladders/steps and I also use a milk crate. I prefer the milk crate because it is a better height.

I had concerns about the fit on the wheel step as well, and it’s fixed position limits it’s usefulness

I’m REALLY tempted to pull the trigger on that topside creeper as I have a tendency to drape myself over the edge of the engine bay which quickly looses its appeal.

All of that being said, the Lowes/Home Depot step is about a third of the price and looks like it would foot the bill fairly nicely. For now I’m leaning towards it, but likely won’t decode until this weekend.

I can’t belive I just missed that $30 sale!

I have a costco 3-step folding ladder that works alright, it has a fold up tool tray as well which is handy.

Not a fan of any of the ones that attach to the rig, my shins have plenty of dents from them. Buckets, milk crates work, kinda, I like these, they fold, store better.
Step Stool/Working Platform

I've tried most of the above, and have come to the conclusion, if you are deep under the hood trying to contort yourself into some ungodly shape to get that nut or bolt started, be prepared to catch yourself with your face, coz just as that thread gets half started after attempt 271, that milk crate, ladder, stool etc is gonna slip!

I put a little strap from the base of the stepstool around my axle a couple weeks ago, to keep it from sliding away. It was frustrating before I did that.

I don't have one, but this tire step looks a little nicer than the one linked above. It's also cheaper and fits larger tires. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Q8TW...TG&pd_rd_r=S5Z6901KXRFY6D49ZTJ5&pd_rd_w=4RaiL

The harbor freight step that Tools posted up is solid, and can be had for $20 quite often.

I like this. I'm only 5'8" and between the lifted Tacoma and the 2 80's, I'm always just climbing up on things. I have a milk crate and a bucket that I use and I've fallen over a bunch of times. My step ladder doesn't get close enough - T-Rex arms.
