Don't think I will be making it out his weekend as this is what my workbench currently looks like. I'm hoping to get the locker installed into the diff tonight and maybe get it back in the truck. But I also need to do an oil change and flush my transmission before it's ready to go.

I also am getting a Detroit locker installed over the weekend and I have a wedding to go to.
Go find some fun out there!

I’d love to but I’m still waiting on parts to plumb in my new brake master cylinder.

Despite recent travel warnings, I'm planning to head up to S. Meadow on Saturday. It appears that the snow has cleared @ Twin Lakes station and I'm hopeful of the same @ S. Meadow. But, theres only one way to know for sure........
If you want to see for yourself, post up here and plan to meet up @ Town Pump in 4 Corners @ 8am. Bring your comms and whatever else you'll need for the day. This is an early start since I'm hoping to be back in BZN by late afternoon.

Now I know for sure, we had clear sailing all the way up. Trail seemed “easier” than the last time I ran it.
Met a couple of guys at the lake in Toyotas from ND. I gave them some 406 business cards and one said we was an intern @ XO. He was aware of our club having met @ttFJC when he visited the XO ranch.

North meadow is completely clear of snow. There is a gnarly mud hole that I had to winch through. Nasty, stinky mud.
Trail had been bypassed where it's too muddy, then the bypass bypassed when it became too muddy that has happened three times. Currently being bypassed again.
What's the ethical move here? Spin tires like crazy in mud creating bigger ruts, bypass the bypass? Wait till trail is 100% dry?

I’m gonna wait a couple weeks then make the ruts deeper. 😂 I often wonder the same thing when it gets like that

you need to take trip to whitetail res if you like mud and bypasses. i'm waiting till august and am not pulling my camper in this time. think i showed pics of when my tires identified themselves as 40's instead of the 33's they are in real life. might be a life lesson in that story

I can personally vouch for @ttFJC 450 being a good winch anchor.

Anybody have a recommendation for the Bozeman area the weekend of the 28th? Or if someone wants to take me somewhere cool.

A 100 Series guy in Great Falls and I have been meaning to meet up for the last year, finally got a good date nailed down.
Day trips ? Overnight? 4x4 or scenic driving? Lots of potential in your area. Could probably find a forest service cabin . Just head in the opposite direction of the tourist traffic and you can't go wrong.

like july?

Probably for the day. 4x4 ideally. I've done plenty in the Beartooth area but not Bozeman.

Yeah, July 28th ish.
Pick a spot on the map and I can chime in to any known trails . I'd head north into the little belts if your meeting a friend from great falls . There is a gnarly pucker up trail south of dry wolf cabin that goes up and over near yogo peak.....slow going and then a bit of loose rock at the top but excellent views and most likely noone around..... The link I posted earlier is another cabin in the area with availability too..... Otherwise just about all the trails up there a goodies

Have fun out there , keep the shiny side up
