i'm terrible on the names of trails, it's off of n meadow crk then it goes to the ridge that overlooks the madison valley. not many people considering it being the 4th weekend.
Don’t think this will be an option for a while, tobacco roots at approximately 8800’. Lots of winching Involved. Can’t load my video of the 40, finally gave up
Made a poll on page one, please go answer it and if you have a specific in mind comment it and i'll add it. Pole will go through saturday july 2nd! ready set go....
that is one drainage i wouldn't want to be in during fire season, Paul, Drew and anyone else with a 40 what dates work for you. I'm open thru july, let's get a date and go with it with hopefully more than 4 40's and possibly a miata. the 9-10...
I was thinking this morning. We should keep our Goose Lake trip on the books. Cooke City is gonna need the tourism dollars more than ever this year. I'm sure other towns are in the same situation. Two years of Covid and now this. We better...
with all the moisture this spring pretty massive slides and washouts on the switchbacks. hopefully this won't be the excuse they've wanted to close it. magic city has pictures on fb.
LATEST UPDATE 10pm Monday June 13th
WE THINK ITS BETTER TO STAY OUT OF LIVINGSTON AND LET THEM DO THE WORK THEY NEED TO DO WITHOUT ANY EXTRA OUTSIDERS.
WE ARE NOW MEETING AT STORY MILL PARK AT 7PM...
PLEASE BRING A CAMP CHAIR IF YOU'D LIKE TO...
i'll second those dates, should be early enough to beat the fires. that is definetley not a place i'd want to be in fire season. i think the guys will like it.
McCarty Creek Trail was a blast and will be a perfect 40's only run trail. It is easy enough with the bypasses that a stock 40 can do it, yet there are places built 40's can play. Like Ron said it is a tight trail because of the trees but...
i really think you'll enjoy it if that's the one we do. i'm more into scenery and not rock crawling, my 40 is a couple levels below what i'd feel comfortable with doing that stuff. if i hadn't been with the guys i was with i definetley wouldn't...
Just got home from Mcarty crk. Darren, Johnny and i did the trip. The trail is narrow due to trees and just challenging enough to be fun. this is primo for the narrow 40's. there should be no danger of damage unless you drive into a tree...
Drew, supposedly there's a good bypass around the rocky section. i'm thinking this coming sat to go run it to see. it seems to me on most pics and video's that they only show guys taking the hardest line. we shall see.
Ron hopefully this will take you to a video of the trail that was posted this morning on Facebook. I'm not sure about the stocker 40's but when you want to go prerun it on a nicer weekend I'd be game once I fix the 40's hub studs.
allegedly frontier club out of helena moved the boulders, also allegedly there is a fs approved bypass for the tough spot. we'll know when we get up there. let's run up there in the next couple of weeks to check it out.
Johnny, lets run up there and check it out. i might have read that a couple new boulders had fell on the trail this spring but hadn't seen any reports that its as tough as that video. here's a link to when pastor john ran it last year
need to bump this one back up. think i'm going to suggest mcarthy crk trail for this year's adventure. goes from boulder to elkhorn, i haven't done this one but it sounds like it's got a few challenging spots without danger of to much damage...
Pics from today of the first 80 I ever owned. I bought this in 2002. Other bits from AK cruisers are selling quick. I’m tempted to ship it here. But realistically I don’t need it. I have infrastructure there. But my parents are selling there...
