Nice!

Also, the wheels are very cool! Are they widened late 40/60/mini wheels or something with similar shaped cut outs?
They are 15x8 in the same style, made by a company out of Australia. Picked them up here in the classifieds and never have been able to find a spare ... have a smoothie from Summit on the spare.

Damn - you guys must carry big saws up there if that’s average 😉
Yuppers ;)

The trees are ginormous in this area but most of the Sierra Nevadas are big trees as well.

This dead Ponderosa pine I fell and bucked up about 4yrs ago....

Everyone needs a big saw.

Don't have to get mine out too often....but when you need one....you NEED one.

Solo 603 (German Saw). 103cc West Coast Model. Run .404 semi-skip chain with an 8 pin rim.

Finished up for the most part the $75 8274 I pulled off the old Bronco. It now has a new 6 hp motor and Albright contactor. This winch is mounted on an ARB bullbar clone on my '77 FJ40. I still need to run cables from the battery and spool on the cable but otherwise done.

Excellent. Where and how did you mount your Albright?

I like it.

Godwin you ever seen a Buttermilk Racer? I've caught probably 10 of them on my property (over the years). Found another yesterday mowing.

I know....not tech.

Never have seen a buttermilk racer, have always wanted to. I have a project in Louisiana over the next couple of years so may verly likely see one or more.

NW part of State only. They are only in pockets. Southern Arkansas, NW Louisiana and Eastern Texas.

Small stuff. I needed a new hook for one of the recently rebuilt 8274s and don't like the fancy, complicated, overlander looking hooks. Found a basic Warn hook at Montanajacks and went with that. Just a simple, basic, functional hook.

I've been using a M12k winch the last decade and had forgotten how fast the 8274 is.

One of its most attractive features. Especially for pulls where you just need a little help or when moving something off a trail, etc.

A not so hard pull of 6,000 lbs will have you moving along at about 12 ft per minute.

Another thing I like about it....is that even on the 5th layer you are never pulling less than 6200 lbs.

150' of cable/line is nice to have too.

Thought I found the limitation of the 8274 but at my surprise I winched this feral pig of a Fir tree off the rd....the 6hp motor is a game changer for the 8274

Impressed. Heck of a job you did there. 👍
Thanks,
This was one of 4 that I cut and winched off the rd that day....I never made it to my destination, many trees still across road up ahead of the one's I cut and I ran out of chainsaw gas and need to bring one of my big saws next time..

I should be sending the USFS an invoice on clearing up there roads..lol
