Early last week i stumbled upon the fact that TOYOTA had

Very hush hush style , Discontinued Part# 27700-60080-84 Voltage Regulator

I was super surprised to hear this because of its fairly Broad Based

Production date coverage spread of 9/72 - 8/76 FJ40 , FJ55

I immediately has my Dealership go-to Parts-guy Key punch away ,

There was only 1 left at The Ontario PDC and None in Transit From JAPAN ?

the Dealer Daily Classification Code was at rock bottom as well .......

a few days later , my Lucky Little UNICORN 27700-60080-84 made it

to me for a Final Destination placement in my personal NOS parts Reference

collection .

I had all ready had my gears turning as far as a Needed Parts Solution of

some sort , and recalled the similarities to another OEM TOYOTA Voltage

regulator that is still a current obtainable part # at mY local dealership .

i ordered one in , picked it up , and headed back to the shop , as i began to

cross compare Visually , i realized this was Now officially a " Skunk-Works"

Operation . i Blew the dust off my T-TEN Charging Systems Training FSM,s

and began to cross compare everything electrically , my gut said

everything was everything , and these were indeed exact Clone , barring the

electrical wiring hook ups etc .

In about 30 seconds i had Dreamed up the JDM Design Spec' s for the

needed-conversion update Sub-Harness , that would be Hand Made , by me

Using 100 % Period Correct Materials & Assembly Techniques and was

Delighted to know i would be able to use 100% OEM TOYOTA Genuine Parts

wiring & electrical supplies , that i now keep in-stock and on-hand

for my ever growing slow but steady pace Vintage Toyota Electrical & wire

harness involvement , it now seems to be getting much more broad based

and in-depth at all levels ........

Remember one thing , fellow members of the 9/72-8/76 Land Cruiser
40 & 55 Series Community , here at VintageTEqParts.com we ALWAYS will have your back ! :)

Presenting For Review : 27700-60080-84-RR

- Fits 9/72 - 8/76 FJ40, FJ55

NOTE : the additional 2 R's or -RR, i have Assigned This Regulator stand
for RE-Manufactured & Re-Production , since Both Classifications Now indeed
do apply to this now more then ever needed parts solutions plug and play Kit...

NEW : Next Generation Fuel Cut Solenoid ....

Dual wire's / 2 wire TYPE w/ Correct TOYOTA LAND CRUISER

2F Engine Specific Design, 2 pin Sealed Double Latching ,

Locking Type , Factory Profile. OEM TOYOTA Electrical Connector

Housing & Encased in the Correct and Safe Originally Designed

Fire / Flame Proof white in color Fabric based wire Loom

That is also Sourced a MADE IN JAPAN

Part # 21062-61060-R

Fj40 FJ55 Fj60 8/80 - 9/87

Also fits a 1/75 - 7/80 with updated Ground wire .

I have Designed a New Fresh idea & Needed parts Solution Update to a

a Very Old and Problematic Basic Minimum Requirements met by the

Aftermarket Suppliers World Wide . The 8/80 - 9/87 FJ40 / FJ60

2F Engine Carburetor 2 Wire Version Fuel Cut Solenoid Part # 21062-61060

was Discontinued by TOYOTA sometime in the late 1990's , When the few

Aftermarket companies picked up the needed parts torch they

failed to apply / install the correct White in Color Fire Proof Wire Loom

, along with the Correct Land Cruiser Specific 2 Pin Connector housing that

matches up with the harness side Green sealed type double latching

.250 Series one

After i dug into this Topic a bit i Discovered the OEM TOYOTA parts maker had

Discontinued the Device side Male Connector Housing attached to the

Solenoid itself originally . Thus forcing the Aftermarket parts maker to Use

a very Common 2 pin NON -Sealed .250 series .one that did not match

the stock Land Cruiser one forcing each installer to cut and splice wires

, or worse ........

I was able to Source the Fire Proof Wire Loom out of JAPAN , with only Minor

Effort , But the Needed Correct Profile Discontinued Connector housing

was a totally different story . I looked and hunted aftermarket for it ,

and finally it came to me , to attempt to contact the original OEM Parts maker

Direct in JAPAN . I got a-hold of them and a lady translated for me ,

after some creative use of the English Language , i managed to convince

them to do a limited Production Run for me . i knew a little about what was

involved during my experience Reproducing the Cluster Meter Round 12 pin

Barrel Connector Project a while back .....

The end product result is nothing less then a Text Book Reproduction Part

that will Meet the Needs of the Later 2 wire Solenoid 2F Engine Land Cruiser

Community ........... :)

Excuse my ignorance, is this also referred to as the idle solenoid or is that something else?

Toyota Engineers Knew the Importance of SOLID Grounds ,

thought Land Cruiser History , this is why starting some time prior to

1969 , it became a new Standard to Have a large gauge wire ,

or Ground Strap...

Dedicated to grounding the Starter motor itself , instead of simply

Relying on the 2 bolts and studs attaching to the bell housing .

After all the entire Engine and Transmission is simply suspended on

4 Solid Rubber Blocks and Discs witch Insulate Electricity quite well.

Part # 90980-07003-R CABLE, BOND, NO. 1

How is any of this tech?

i going to assume you did not bother to read any of the countless

paragraphs Above ? 🤔

of Technical Details , from Metallurgy Spec's , why and when TOYOTA decides

to mysteriously Discontinue Needed parts by the Land Cruiser Community ,

to how many hours of time & thought-out carefully and in many cases

hand crafted parts are arranged into a Plug and Play Kit for for folks like you

who may just happen to need them ?

My question to you @lowtideride , How is it NOT TECH ?

i provide a Overkill of detailed Technical Analysis and Kits breakdown

to Educate the Membership they have New and Progressive Technical options

Available to them .

after that you can then please explain to me :

what a " LUMEN " is ...........

Great stuff. Keep it up. I'll certainly have a need for your products on my customers cruisers. Really like the lit Wiper and Hazzard knobs. I tried doing something like that in the past with the Corolla GT switches but I just lost interest.

You are correct, there is some tech here. But in all honesty it's mostly about you promoting products you sell. It was more a jab at you for consistently posting up close photos in random threads of items you have for sale. Don't get me wrong I am very glad you are here supporting our forum and Land Cruiser enthusiast, I may even need some of your products one day.

Also, I believe a Lumen is a measure of Forum Etiquette :flipoff2:

first of all :

Thank you VERY MUCH for a Honest and Constructive feedback reply . :)

some folks choose to speak using only there keyboard , and sometimes
in a very Cowboy way ?

others here on MUD i have noticed Never Post , only place the various LIKES
or the such ...

i choose both of the above sometimes , but sometimes choose to speak through a image or photo as well ... ( NOT Cowboy )
