Ramhorns on the 80 series 350. These came off of late 60's Corvettes typically. The modern block do not have the studs neccessary to mount the heat shields, so I put high temp composite sleeves over my plug boots. Problem solved. Headers are not Calif. smog legal, while the ramhorns are smog legal and allow the engine to have a better low end with all the benefits of the headers on the top end of torque.

i just got ceramic coated huggers, lifetime gaurantee on the finish, from big b auto, for $119.99. that's half the price of the big dogs like hedman and hooker.

I have the over fram eheaders. I too have a heat problem and leaking manifold and collector gaskets.
I am on the fence about rams horns or block huggers. My problem with the block huggers is I have to figure out a way to route the exhaust because I have a rear aux fuel tank so I cant just run them out the back. For all you guys with headers I did find a kit for locking the header bolts. I can not say how well they work. I have not got aroung to ordering them yet. Take a look at Eastwood.com.

ok, I read that last thread about the 2.5 vs 2"... So for you that are running a 350 (5.7 liter), youre all running 2" manifolds? I also was under the impression that 2.5 would be better form my motor, but as stated before, I am in it for low end torque.. So, 2" is best for the Cruiser, and that $35.00 cross over pipe will work well..?

Hoping so, cause this is a cheaper solution than a 2.5" system-

The finish does not change the thickness of the flange. Good luck with the leaks.

Is that an ignition wire, oil pressure hose, and heater hoses passing through the firewall without gromets?

i don't have any gromets. this thing is a work in progress. always will be. for now i just covered the open holes with duct tape to keep the cold air out. pretty hick, huh.

I've got 3 sanderson block hugger headers and I want to get ramshorns. Anyone want to trade??
